YES if the jerk tries to get you to pay on the 1st date just think of it this way...you only wasted 1 night on him and the price of two meals unless he drank like a fish should be his in any case ..he asked you out didn't he?

No. It should be whoever asked the other person out, OR split the bill.
The male paying for the date goes back to old times when women were not supposed to work, and therefore tried to marry a man with enough money to support them. By paying for the date, they were helping prove they could support the woman.
Nowadays, if women wish to be treated as equals (which I hope they do), they need to act like equals, which includes helping to foot the bill for things like this. If females sit back & let the man pay because "It's the gentlemanly thing to do" they are essentially proving to society that they are not capable of supporting themselves, and not equals. We know this is NOT true, so why not show it?

The first date is very important and in customary for the man to pay for it. As also open doors and slide seat back at table and to be polite as hell the whole point is to break the ice and see how you really feel for one another . I all goes well then ,,,

Depends..if have you known him for a long time and he asks you to join him..yes..If it is a casual meeting..pay for your own...then maybe you will have another opportunity for him to pay for dinner at a later date.

Offer to pay your share. If he prefers to pick up the tab be gracious about it. It is hard to know now days. If a guy pays does he expect sex in exchange for diner? If so I'rather he be up front and just give me the money.

It depends on the circumstance. If the woman, I am assuming it's a date between and man and woman, asked him out then she should pay. If he asked then he should pay or if both parties agree ahead of time they can split the tab.

On the first date, yes.
After that, when I was in the dating pool, I always went dutch..or at least I tried to go dutch, sometimes my guys had other ideas, ala "my treat, my treat" when I would open my purse with an intent " I'm going to pay my share" look on my face.

It depends on who did the asking out to dinner. ( I am old fashioned though I think the guy should always pay)

Only if he's the one who asked the girl out. The person who asks is the person who pays.
