Honey is a good, natural source of energy. Caffeine, too, of course.

For instant energy there is only one. Water. It is a natural energizer and when we are dehyrated we feel tired. It gets all of the organs working, all of the joints, the body and mind are full up and ready to go. Just after that is the sugars. It is a quick energy release but will die out quickly too. That is why people get sugar rushes and crashes. Any junk food or soda will do this for you. It doesn't matter if it is regular sugar, corn syrup, honey, basically anthing natural. They all will be quick acting behind water.

Bananas are the best natural and healthy option as they contain lots of quick release energy.

But if you need something more powerful, probably the most powerful energy supplement/drink you can get is Viper Extreme from Maximuscle - designed for athletes & martial artists to use only before demanding tournaments on the day of the competition. But you have to be careful with this one, as it's so powerful if you take it too late in the day you won't sleep all night.

Check out http://store.maximuscle.com/epages/maximuscle.storefront/
and make sure you read the full description - you may decide something like Viper Turbo or just plain Viper is more for you.

Orange juice. Drinks are processed faster, so they would work quicker than foods.

These methods though, sugar and such, will work quickly but only for a small amount of time. Then you'll 'burn out'. Literally, you'll feel completely drained and exhausted. The energy can last 20 mins to an hour depending on how much you take in.

For long lasting energy, meats and proteins work the best. Eggs and cheese for breakfast, and you can run until dinner.

Usually carbs give you a lot of energy but they take sometime to work. Prtein bars or milkshakes are good options, fruits such as apples, oranges or bananas. Foods with a lot of sugar, such as candies. If I want energy imediately I usually have a protein bar or milkshake and they work very well. Coffee is good also.

Energy Bars

Your local Health Food store can advice you on these.

Alternatively you could try good Bicycle stores they supply Energy Bars and Gels for quick release.

Any type of carb, like bread, crackers, or oatmeal.
Any kind of caffeinated drink, like cokes or coffee will give you a buzz, but once the caffeine wears off, you'll actually be more tired than you were before.
Fruits are also good, especially citrus fruits like oranges, lemons, limes, and grapefruit.
