The question is, how to make a homemade agility course, or a place near south bend Indiana or benton harbor Michigan that has an agility course.

For weave poles you can use fiberglass fence posts. You can get these at any farm supply store and they aren't expensive. You can use most anything to make jumps. An old coffee table can be used for the platform. Go to a construction site and get a piece of drainage pipe, tape it in to a circle as a jump through. The only thing that will be hard to come up with is the tunnel.
You can also get a beginning agility kit at J7J dog supply at a very reasonable price and I think also at Care-A-Lot pets.

Have you considered that the subject of agility is quite specific, and perhaps there's just no one on here at this moment (or in the past 15 minutes) who has a good answer? There's probably a significant chance that not many people surfing Yahoo Answers right now are agility experts. many of these people have families, and they are probably eating dinner right now. Stop being so selfish.

I have to say that you weren't too clear as to whether this homemade agility course was supposed to be for you or a pet. I hope that the answer that I gave you was good enough. Best wishes and take care.

I saw your first question, gotta give people time to answer. Patience, just like you will need when you want to teach your dog how to use your agility course.

My suggestion, go to one that is already set up by a club and implement with some of your own things around your home.

We just made our own conformation show ring to practice in at home. Not rocket science.

i read your last question and am not so sure if you want / need an agility course for your self or your dog or your rat???

Fr your self I would say a gym and do 5 mins and rotate explain what you wish to do to a personal trainer and he / she will set you up once and that will be just as good.

Your dog, it would depend on what type of dog you have as to what sort of agility skills they would need training in, ie it is a LOT different for a collie than if it is a pit bull........as for your rat I am soooo very afraid of rats I really can not help you.

Good luck with whichever one it is

So what is the question you want us to answer? Agility means quickness of movement or nimbleness. Many dogs have great agility skills - retrievers, labs, etc.

Hey, nobody here is OBLIGATED to help you. They choose what they want to answer and what they don't. Chill out.

I notice that you didn't bother to post a link to the question, so everyone now has to go to your profile, find your questions, and identify the agility question. Don't expect much, do you?

I'm going to make a point of not answering any of your questions, because quite frankly, your attitude stinks. I sincerely hope that others choose to likewise not reward your rudeness.

Sorry I just got on. Try calling some different training facilities or contact a 4-h group most will let you bring your pet and assist with any training. Doggy daycares also have courses. I can't remember where we got the size standards to build our own but if you want to e-mail and remind me I'll try to find the booklet with the info.
