I have a friend who is underweight (90lbs) but thought she was fat at 120 (which was normal).

She thinks she is very very ugly. She wants to get plastic surgery on nose, chin and cheek.

She doesn't date at all, 'cause she says (1st it was weight) she won't date anyone who would want to be w/ an ugly or fat girl.

Do you think that having such an attitude can make you unattractive to (men)?

#1 -- This is so unhealthy. Something happened to her that is making her hate herself. Either some sort of abuse, neglect, something. I'm not a doctor by any means but this behavior doesn't just "happen." I would suggest if you are her friend, ask her to talk to a counselor in school. Be supportive cuz something is wrong with this. If she loses more weight, I'd say to be a friend & step in to make her get help. Perhaps by telling an adult.
#2 -- Yes, this behavior repels men. But that is the least of your/her problems.

No, you can't. She looks the same as she does any other time. Her body language could be off, but men generally don't look @ that. But, when she talks to a guy, she could be a turnoff because of her pessimistic attitude, ipso facto, in a way a bad attitude makes you ugly, just not on the looks level.

Yes. Sum people r hideous outside but their attitude makes them shine. If u think ur ugly, u r going 2 becum ugly cuz ur emotions show on ou face n they sure do change it. Plus u'll use more muscles 2 think of ugly thoughts n 2 portray them. So think beautiful.

It will usually make you ugly because you will stop doing the things you normally would to make yourself a lot prettier. Your attitude affects everything and she probably gives off the vibe that she doesn't like herself and has low self esteem so no one is going to want to go out with her. She should find at least one thing she likes about her body. you could even point it out to her, like if shes tall, she would like you mentioning that, or if she has pretty eyes.

I think if you have that attitude you would do things that would make you look that way..... bad clothes hair cut .. Also having a vastly negative personality is not a helpful tool on the dating scene.

Self Esteem is the way we see ourselves. The way we see ourselves is what shows to the world.

Positive attitude and confidence is the non physical side of what attracts men.

She needs help. The plastic surgery will only last a while.. . She needs to learn to love herself. she shouldn't date until the attitude is in check. Please help her. Tell her beauty is only skin deep. attitude comes from within

Yes, you gotta love yourself and accept yourself and have self confidence before anyone else can accept you for who you are. She obviously has an issue with self-esteem and nobody can fix it for her except herself. She sounds like she is trying to be something she is not. She just needs to be happy.

When someone "thinks" she's ugly in her own mind.......then she has a very low self esteem.......and THAT is very much a turn-off to men. (same goes for men seeking women)

Self-confidence is much more attractive!
