Well, for starters it's called remorse...guilt...embarassment possibly. Edger Allen Poe had a good one called the "Tell tale Heart". A person's conscience will drive you nuts!

He's probably feeling guilty ever time he looks at his lady which I'm assuming is you. It says a lot for his character that he confessed and (you) didn't find out some other way. But the other person that he slept with was probably not a lady, especially if she knew about (you).

Maybe he was having an internal battle over the whole thing and decided to come clean to have a clear conscience. Or, maybe he wants to get rid of you and is just using this as a venue. Too many parameters to tell for sure without knowing the whole story.

He would because of guilt and it goes to show that he actually has a conscience. Sure, the girl would get mad but if my boyfriend told me that, I would think that it would suck to lose such an honest guy like that. It's not every day that a guy would admitt to something like that to his own girlfriend.

Either he felt guilt, or he missed you a lot, or he is on for it again. Thinking another way, he might make it seem like he has confesed and out of those things and secretly go for it again. I mean he wants multiple "wives"
