I woke in the middle of the night and under my arm was on fire! I could never locate the actual bite, but under my arm and a little ways down my side was very red and burning like sunburn. It wasn't really swollen much, just inflamed. It hurt really bad for several days & then started to feel almost scaley like snakeskin. Then, just like sunburn, it peeled but very thin - just like snake skin. I never did find any dead spiders or bugs. A Park Ranger said he thought it might have been a spider & gave me some stuff out of his first aid kit. Now, almost two weeks later it still feels a little itchy & my skin looks darker there. Does anyone have any knowledge that might lead to me finding out what could have bit me? Thanks.

Maybe you should break the habit of not washing your under arms.... In the end it is all a really simple solution now isnt it...Shower

Actually it is a spider bite or somthing that would have stung had you been awake. Obviously injected into your skin, if you havent died by now, that seems to be a good thing. A doctor would be of great assistance in your case.

A student in my class was bitten by a brown recluse spider and his symptoms sound like yours do. He had to go to the hospital, so you probably need to see a doctor.

If, after two weeks, you have not consulted a physician, I can't believe you are too concerned about your bite. If you are, go to a doctor!
