Ten years ago...

Are you sure your dog is THAT old?
Call the Guinness Book of Old Records... Your dog is OLD. Like 196 years old in dog years!!!

The average LONG lifespan for a dog is 14-18 years, 20 in rare, rare occations, so either you have taken amazing care of your pooch or someone told you the wrong age.
Check out the link below though, it's pretty cool.

you didnt specify if this was human years or dog years-27 in dog years is not old for them, but in human years i'd say not much time left, regardless of breed-dogs that live to such old ages rarely see the enxt year-sorry to say, but that dog , if in human years, would be ancinet beyond all reason, and if health problems exist, may be kindest to put him/her to sleep.
