cut the tip off. there will be no more suction. he might still carry it around for a few days, but he won't want it anymore.

I am going through this right now with my daughter who is 2 1/2. She woke up a few nights ago about an hour after she went to bed. I went and got her and left her "ni-ni" (as she calls it) in her bed. She slept all night without it. So the next morning I left it at home when I took her to the babysitters. After I picked her up I decided to stick with it and not give in to her. Sure, she has cried and asked for it, but I just change the subject and turn her attention to something else. Have you considered getting the poggie away from both kids? That way the older one couldn't take the babies away from her.

Don't talk about the binky for at least a week. Then take your son to the calendar and explain to him that on this particular day (point to the day and have it marked on the calendar) and calculate how many days old he will be on that day. Explain to him that on that day the invisible poggie fairy will come and take his binky, sorry we called it binky. She will take it to her poggie factory to have it cleaned and polished and repackaged so a baby can have it. The neat part about it is that you tell him that he gets to tell Mommy something really cool that he wants a new toy, etc. and she will write the poggie fairy a note and the poggie fairy will leave that present for him. Yeah, it will cost you a few bucks but it worked for my daughter. The other thing is that the poggie fairy will not let him keep the present if he takes the poggie from his sibling. Worked for me...cost me $60.00 (set of new power ranger action figures).

With my daughter we just threw it away when she was sleeping and she was over it in a day. Best thing if it takes longer for your son to get over it do not give in, just tell him the babies in heaven need pacifiers or binkies or what ever you want to call it. You can also get a balloon and tie it to it and let him let it go so he knows and tell him he did a very good job and helped out a baby who needed one. I learned that one from Nanny 911.

I saw this really cute thing on nanny 911. The little girl wouldnt give up her nook. So they told her the pacifairy was coming and she needed nooks for all the babies who didnt have one. So they got a cutte bag and had her help collect all the nooks then they tied it to a tree and told her the pacifairy would come and get them and leave her a gift. The next day the little girl was so excited to see her gift from the fairy. Mabey u could think of a boy twist to add to that. all little kids like special presents.

I have a 4 year old daughter that gave hers up shortly after her third birthday. I was 7 months pregnant at the time and she just stopped wanting it but when her sister was born, she kept taking her sisters pacifier. She finally stopped that after about 2 months.

What I had to do for my son was. Every time he took a nap or lay down for the night he had to have his pacifier. After he would be in a sound sleep I would take it away.
Eventually he forgot about it, and didn't need it anymore.

My friend took her kid to the Zoo and told him that the baby bears needed it more than he did... so ran up to a park ranger and gave it to her.
Not to sure how to keep his mind of it though since he has a 1 year old sister using one... maybe getting rid of both of them.

the binky fairy came to our house and collected all the binkys and left behind a cool power ranger toy he really wanted. for the next 3 days i took him to the zoo, movies, whatever to wear him out to the point he'd fall asleep without looking for his binky. by day 3 he was over it. i tried to "wean" him but it was too easy to give in for me so cold turkey and exhaustion was the only way

Get rid of both of them. They cause real teeth problems. It would have been better for their teeth if they had never had them in the first place, but it's never too late to improve and three is certainly as late as you can leave it. Jawline deformities!

not fairly understanding the history of the little tike, i might want to assert initiate sluggish. proscribing the bottle to mattress time is a initiate. do not get rid of something. enable him imagine it really is his determination. enable him %. between the pacifier and enable's say a "vast boy" toy like a prepare. with any success he will pick the prepare. If not, then enable me have his determination and see if there is something he will pick over the pacifier. sturdy success.
