Children need to be held accountable for their actions from the day they are born. I make my two year old accountable for her bad behavior. I think that 10-15 years ago there was a stable foundation. Parents worked a little less and paid more attention to their children. Plus it seems that disciplining your child is taboo. Everyone needs to take responsibility for their actions unfortunately not alot of adults seem to do this either.

Child psychologists have done an excellent job of convincing today's parents that children are the center of the household. Years ago the foundation of the house was mom and dad, children had to earn privileges and contribute to the household. Today's parents believe their children should want for nothing, never have to feel bad about the things they've done and always feel like their # 1. Listen to the very popular statement "the kids always come first" Well I guess that sounds like a great parent when they say it, but is your child learning to live in society when he feels he always comes first? Parents need to seek out grandma and grandpa's advice when raising their children and let the hot new catch phrases of parenting disappear.

i hate to tell you that it is not just the youth its both youth and adults i know many people that cant accept the responsibility of thier actions i believe that is society in general were to start stepping up and saying hey i did this and i am responsible for my actions then maybe more people would not be in jail and dealing with as many problems in society i can go on all day and night about how i feel about people taking responsibilty but as one is raised that way that is how one shall be the only thing you can do is raise your children right and make them take responsibility for thier actions and maybe they will turn out the right way

Usually kids have a hard time accepting responsibility for their actions b-coz their parents have always found a way to bail them out of any touble they've been in & when the time comes that the parents won't or can't the kid has already learned to make excuses & blame someone else instead of accepting responsibility.

I feel like in today's times.. The kids have been given to much... They are not made to earn what they have.. Or know what punishment is.. To many parents are letting kids run with groups they know nothing about.... Hang out at malls, or other places that have no adults around... Back in our time you stayed at home with the "Family".. If you went to town you went together... You didn't have cell phones......You didn't just take off when ever you wanted to.... You didn't tell your parents what you were going to do.. You ASKED if you could do it........ And if you got to spend the night away from home it was after your parents talked to the other parents and knew what was going on and if they were going to be right there at all times.... Most today I feel drop there kids off to get rid of them for awhile... Then wonder what went wrong....

It seems they were never taught the meaning of responsibility. The generation which gave birth to these miscreants was a generation of materialistic wannabees who idolize the rich and famous. They also relied, not in common sense, but in computers and all the electronic goodies that are in vogue. It was so much easier for them to let the Tv or video games raise their children, so they could have more time for themselves. They are also a product of parents who need medication for EVERYTHING, because every facet of life is much too stressful for them when they have to think on their own. It was also "hip" to have a mentor to tell you what to do, how to think, etc, etc.
I feel sorry for these kids, because they don't know that they, themselves can overcome their own upbringing, to become useful human beings in society.
I better stop....I'm babbling

The difference is:
A. Parents were allowed to be more strict back then.
B. Society enables kids by not making them take responsibility. Parents are not allowed to disciplin their children the old fashion way. Kids have no fear. Consequences for their actions aren't harsh enough. They are mouthy and disrespectful. If parents disciplined their kids the old fashion way, we would be turned into DSS for abuse. Parents aren't allowed to give their children and old fashion swat on the behind any more.

Nope. If I were in basic terms scared to take duty, i might want to be an unruly and disobedient theist. i'd not bypass round feigning atheism in basic terms because i theory there develop right into a god, yet i develop into too chickensh*t to settle for that my movements had consequences. also: in basic terms because i'm an atheist, this is compared to I refuse to settle for duty for my movements. I DO! I do in basic terms not trust there's a god in the back of something. yet i attempt to act morally, because i think a experience of duty and worrying for my fellow human beings + the different creatures that inhabit this planet. there is also the authorities imposing rules on me that I easily ought to stick with, except i prefer to get in difficulty.

Times they are a changing!!!!! Children are not taught values and morals like they were before, and one of the reasons for this is because of the number of "baby's having baby's" in this world. How can you teach something that you were never taught yourself.
When you are 13 years old, running around having sex, getting pregnant. What kind of parent can you possibly be?

They probably came from a home where their parents thought they could do no wrong, so no need to accept responsibility. Now that teaching is showing what happens later.
