Yes, even when dieting, your body needs fat everyday. Olive oil is your best choice.

I agree with everyone else, olive oil is very good on your salad. Just remember that everything else you are putting on there may not be as healthy. Cheeses, eggs, bacon bits, croutons and thick dressings/creamy dressings aren't good either. Stick with light vinaigrette's if possible if you want to keep your diet healthy. You just have to make sure whatever else that you are eating needs to stay in moderation. Some nuts are good as well. You can make nice fruit smoothies too by adding that Yoplait yogurt. Good luck to you and like what someone else said, exercising is good too.

Olive oil is great - very healthy. In fact, the South Beach Diet approves of Olive Oil - even in Phase 1. As long as you aren't deep frying potatoes, Olive Oil is a great and healthy and beneficial addition.

This is good for your diet. Besides the phytonutrients in the salad, olive oil is a good oil that counteracts the bad ones. Also vinegar is good for your health esp. Bragg's from the health food store.

Keeping it to a small amount will not hurt.. In fact it's very helpful to you. Olive oil contains 'good' cholesterol that helps to lower bad cholesterol. My Dr recommended me to do all my cooking with it.
