God created the angel that would eventually become who we know to be Satan. See, we all have this ability to choose. And each choice comes with a consequence - be it good or bad. Now the choice presented to us is to either choose God's path and the trials that come along with that choice. Or choose not to walk that path and the trials that come with that choice. Satan chose his own path which eventually lead to misery and unhappiness. Personally, I think hell is just a state of being. A good example is being around someone that we aren't particularly fond of or in a place that we are very uncomfortable being in. We would refer to this state as "We're in hell..." or "This is hell...". Or being damned is really a point where we aren't "growing" or are impeded to grow. So, the real dichotomy is, yes, God created Satan who chose his own path, but without Satan we would not know goodness.

According to Judaism, "Satan" is an angel who is still in heaven with G-d and who is doing G-d's will.
Judaism has no concept of a "devil" or fallen angel. According to the religion of Jesus, angels do not have free will, so they cannot choose to disobey God as humans can.
The word satan means challenger. This describes Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. Satan works FOR God. His job is to strength man's spirit. Christianity sees Satan as God's opponent. In Judaism, the idea that anything in the universe would be capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be the same thing as declaring Satan a god or demigod.
The notion of an angel having free will is alien to Judaism. Free will requires the tension created by being a soul dwelling in a body. People can have free will, but angels can't. Satan acts as a servant of God, not as an opponent or even disobedient child. Angels cannot sin, they cannot fall.

Satan was not always Satan. God created him with 'free will' and he was given much more ability than the other angels. He was above the angles. His free will eventually gave him the idea that he was equal to God and he gathered followers among the angels that were also given free will. So the archangel of all archangels was thrown to the earth along with his followers and will eventually be bound and will spend eternity in "hell". Hell was never meant for us, but our free will gives us the option to follow God or follow Satan.
I know how the book ends. As for me, I will follow God.

The name "Satan" is Hebrew for "Adversary". So God creates an angel and names him Adversary, and then is surprised when the dude turns out to be adversarial? Why not just name him A$$hole?
Anyway, God is omniscient, so he knew that Satan would rebel before he even started creating angels. So it's difficult to argue that Satan is currently doing anything other than God's Will.
And God's Will is, obviously, to punish most of his creations with eternal damnation so that the "elect" can watch and giggle, feeling saddened yet morally superior.

God did not create satan. Satan was the most beautiful and powerful of all ANGELS and turned on god. There was huge war in heaven and god won. Satan was banned to live for all eternity in hell. God gave us free will to choose satan or him. Obviously you have chose the wrong one. (God is not my god but everybody's God)

Sort of like asking who is responsible for speeding...the licensed teenager driving the car or the school that taught him how to to drive.
Satan took free will, and decided to indulge himself at the expense of mankind.
How typical the way of the world, to try to make the Creator the perpetrator. Is God grieved that he created us? Yep. why? Because you are such a nice person?
Guess not.
Those who try to get Satan off the hook are just trying to get themselves off the hook too...that is, to avoid personal responsibility.
But on the last day, God is going to observe while you get the otherpart of free will...personal responsibility. That's right...you want choices, but with them go consequences...can't have one without the other.
Enjoy your consequences.

i think the religious answer would be God created Satan knowing full well the ramifcations of the creation... and if you believe in Satan or God, then this makes sense, other wise, your just asking a question to lose 5 points.

God doesn't condemn you or Satan to hell. Hell is simply the "absence of God", a place of hiding from God. Heaven and hell were concepts not available in Judaism because before Jesus, no-one went to heaven or hell. Even the patriarchs - Abraham, Moses, etc did not go to heaven till they encountered the Redeemer they had hoped for through their generations. (hint: Moses didn't see the promised land on earth before he died, do you think he would have seen the eternal heavenly promised land just after he died ? He was in the "bosom of Abraham", neither in heaven nor in hell - Jesus could have mentioned paradise or hell, he mentions neither in the parable of Lazarus) In revelations there are clues to when Satan was thrown out of heaven - Revelation 12:8 but he(Satan) was defeated and there was no longer any place for them in heaven. And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers HAS BEEN THROWN DOWN, WHO ACCUSES THEM DAY AND NIGHT BEFORE OUR GOD." If you see Christ as the messiah of the Jews, you will see the progression and the opening of heaven to the saints and patriarchs through the Redeemer of humanity. Just as Adam closed the gates for us, Christ opened them for us. Now we do talk of heaven and hell.
It is so easy to blame God. But God gives everyone a chance, even the accuser who was not thrown out of heaven right away for rebelling against God in order to be God. It is we who decide to separate from God of our own accord into the outer darkness that Jesus speaks about.

All of the Christians are going to take the 'free will' plea, which is a load of crap. All I ask is, "Does god have free will?" If so then can't he just torture good and bad people for all eternity in hell? He has free will doesn't he which means he is able to do anything. If he doesn't have free will then he is at fault for giving us free will too.
But free will in reality doesn't exist, it is merely an illusion the brain works hard to create.

I take many might agree that its no longer lawful for 2 adult males to lie at the same time,if your mothers and dads have been gay you does no longer exist, because of the fact gays or same intercourse union can no longer produce. i think of its GOD you may concern approximately and despite in case you do no longer consider you GOD'S regulation who's potent to alter it,you basically be waiting for judgment day,or you would be asking a distinctive question. GET arranged earlier CHRIST return!
