Neither of you should go out with him.
Think about it; what's more important... a best friendship or a boy?
If you go out with him, your best friend will be hurt and probably jealous. If she were to be with him, you'd feel the same way.
The only fair way to go about it is to forget about this boy and both of you move on to different boys. It wouldn't be fair for one or the other to go out with them, so think about your friendship, and let go of this crush.

Talk to your friend about it. But make sure you read between what shes saying. Try to figure out what she is saying by her tone and face. But always remember to talk to your friend about it and that guys will come and go but your best friend will ALWAYS be there!

ahh... i TOTALLY had this problem and we were talking about it but she said that if he ever asked me out she would be very happy for me and wouldn't want to hold me back from anything... but that is just her personality because she is SOOO nice to everyone.. i suggest you try talking to your friend about this but choose your words very carefully I would start out by saying... (name), I wanted to bring this up because i have been worried that this could possible change things between us and I really dont want this to happen so don't be upset with me for saying this but ...etc.
