I really don't want to let her go, so what do I do to prevent it?

to answer every ones questions, she said that she is just tired of her and all the hair getting over everything, and she keeps running down the street when we let her out in the morning. It's not training problems or anything, we have had her for two years. It is funny what mikeloves said though, becuz i actually do have a paper mache model of her I made in art class

Maybe you should really sit down and talk to your mom. You need to tell her how you feel for the dog that you feel like your dog is part of the family. If there is no reason you mom is getting rid of the dog such as chewing,biting,barking.etc... then I think you should definatley have this talk. If you mom is the "guilt trip queen" kind of mom then all I can think of is be extra nice and do all the things she wants you to do. :) Either way I think a talk is good,i mean,,is it your dog or your MOMS dog????

Like another person said, what is the rest of the story? I'm assuming that you still live at home. Is your mom getting rid of the dog because she can no longer afford to feed it? or did you not keep a promise to take care of it? You might not be able to prevent it, but maybe she will allow you to help pick a nice family for the dogs new home. Dogs do require a lot of care and attention, and sometimes with busy families that's hard to do.

What is the reason she's getting rid of her? If it's because she has to take care of her most of the time, prove to her that you will start taking the responsibility. Is it because she's not house trained or disobedient in some way? Get her trained. Take her to obedience class. Pin point the problem, then try to solve it. You really didn't say why your mom is doing this.

You could use the dog as a paper machet mold and make and exact replica so you will always have fond memories of the dog.

Talk to your Mom and find ouy why - if you don't already know. Then find a way to solve the problem. Need a little more input to give you concrete advise.

Find out why. If it is because you aren't taking care of the animal, then step up to the plate. Otherwise, there's not much you can do about it.
