1. Graduate from high school
2. Go to college, take prerequisite coursework
3. Take MCAT before senior year
4. Apply to medical school
5. Interview with admissions panel(s)
6. Graduate college
7. Matriculate to medical school
8. Two years of classroom education
9. USMLE Step 1
10. Two years clinical rotation
11. USMLE Step 2
12. Apply for residency
13. Match and scramble
14. Graduate from medical school (the title of Dr. with suffix MD or DO will be conferred at this point)
15. Do residency, three to seven years
16. Fellowship if you feel like it, otherwise, PRACTICE!
You thought it would be ten easy steps??? Get real!
and Pitbullhumper, not many people do know the steps of getting into med school. If YOU knew, you'd have answered the question instead of berating this kid for being curious.

Ambition
Becoming to want one.
Curiosity
Desire to help the needy and the sick
willing to abide by ethics
Forgiving those who want to defame u.
Giving the poor medicines in the form of samples u get.
Having some compassion for the sick.
Insight that others have feeling like u and are equally stressed bec they have placed ur trust in u.
Honest.
Accountable to ur actions good and bad decisions.
Responsibility to accept that u were the coz of others suffering.
Satisfied with what u have in life and not kill innocent people or test drugs to test ur hypothesis, and publish papers and go for vactions, while ur patients are suffering mentally, financially.
If u think u have these qualities then I think u have the school readiness to attend medical school.

1)forget you have a life
2)study study study
3)watch e.r. (especially with pleasure because it's the only hour of tv you'll be able to watch)
4)get used to eating sandwiches
5)coffee coffee coffee
6)dont' forget to study some more
7)when you pass an exam, have a beer and enjoy it
8)study some more
9)don't lose hope
10)then go and study some more:)

Take high school biology, take other college-prep courses, stay in the top 5% of your class, score high on the ACT, score high on the SAT, take a pre-med course in college, stay in the top 5% of your college class also, score high on the medical acceptance test,apply for medical school, get accepted, attend and graduate from medical school, do clinicals in med school, spend 2 years as a resident, take and pass the medical board exams, and finally - you're in!

If you really wanted to be a Dr. this would be something that you already know, or something to talk to a school guidance counselor, not yahoo.answers. Let's hope that you are never my doctor, if you need someone to point out obvious examples, like graduate high school!
