I never have depended on my spouse for validation for my life.
I knew my life meant something when I looked at myself in the mirror and was happy with the woman I saw looking back.
It was the day I became independent.
The day I became a parent.
The day I realized how easy it is to listen to others.
I don't depend on my partner to make me feel good about myself. I love him, but he's not the reason I was born.

Life had meaning to me the day I gave birth. My lovely grandmother sort of forced the issue when she said "You'd better do this right, you could be raising the next president". Ever since then, my life became theirs.

The day I realized that I had survived the head on car crash (I was knocked into a coma for a week, had two broken arms, broken ribs, broken leg) and was stronger for it. I have scars and aches and pains, but I still have my brain and my heart and I can love people with everything I have.
