Chocolate covered onions?? Where did you get those? And chocolate is poison to a dog. And how big is the bushel?? If they eat too much, they can die.

First of all, who the hell has chocolate covered onions?? Ew! Anyway, presuming this is real, get your dog to a vet, as both are very toxic to dogs. The onions will take couple of days to poison your dog, but the chocolate is bad right away, and can give your dog a heart attack, so get the dog to a vet asap. They'll give him something to regulate his heartbeat and probably pump his stomach to remove the onion.

one of my friends has worked for a vet for quite a while. she said that the types of chocolates that dogs can digest are those like hershey's, but baker's chocolate is of a different caliber. also, it depends on how large your dog is. if you have a 120 pound pooch, their stomach and digestive system is way different than a 3 pound pocket puppy. If in doubt, take your dog to the vet as a precautionary measure, and make sure if you do not take it, that you keep a close eye to make sure that they are doing okay.
but, I have to ask, where the heck do you find chocolate covered onions?

Was it standard or baker's chocolate? If it's like nestle or hershey's don't worry about it. Their stomach will be upset for a day or so and they'll have the runs but it's no biggie. If it's baker's chocolate (the kind with no sugar) take them to the animal hospital right away. They need their stomach pumped or surgery.

what a combo!! actually about the baker's chocolate my dog eats chocolate cake i don't give it to him he climbs the cupboards to get it. I think it differs from dog to dog watch it close very close and take it to the vet just in case. to most dogs its lethal
