The term perennial philosophy relates to what some take to be the mystic's primary concern: with the one, divine reality substantial to the manifold world of things and lives and minds. But the nature of this one reality is such that it cannot be directly or immediately apprehended except by those who have chosen to fulfill certain conditions, making themselves loving, pure in heart, and poor in spirit.

I don't agree with your characterization. Which doesn't mean that I declare it false in all contexts or for all people.

A perennial philosophy is one that relates to the enduring and self- renewing aspects of life and the universe. While many spiritual paths see this as a useful way to connect with such self-renewing energies, that doesn't mean it is the only way. And not all mystic traditions even follow that particular energetic model.

Nor do I grant your premise that mystic energies or the nature of reality is limited to those who make themselves loving. Denial and hatred can be just as pure, and just as powerful.

And the requirement that someone be poor in spirit to reach the mystical or to grow in understanding of the universe is a direct contradiction. So, that one clause I will assert is objectively false.

That was deep, it could be true but very few people can attain that level calmness in their souls in the current world we live in.
