USA troops were looking for a band of Taliban fighters. Soldiers were watching live video from a drone. The drone found the band of about 50 Taliban fighters. They were standing packed together in rows. The USA soldiers were very excited, knowing the drone was carrying 2 missles they showed the video to their superiors. It was determined that the group of Taliban fighters were gathered for a funeral for one of there fallen fighters. The order was given to NOT fire on them.

I can understand how some people would say this is the right action for our military to take. But, if I were a soldier in that war and saw that this is the way my superiors were handling these situations, I would be AWOL.

Just interested in what other people think about this policy.

Unfortunately, we will not open fire into a cemetery, its unmoral, unethical, and against our ROE (Rules of Engagement). The enemy may do it, but we are not them, and we, US Army, should set the example.

For anyone interested in 9/11 check out this site: http://www.wanttoknow.info/9-11timeline60pg

Its a time line of events surrounding 9/11 from the 70's to the present and each entry has references from the main stream media to back it up. No theories, just facts. Excellent reading.

I agree it is a little messed up, however it is against the Geneva Conventions to do so. And since we officially declared war on terrorism, and Al-Queda is a terrorist organization, we legally have to follow the rules of combat when fighting them (the same with terrorist insurgents in Iraq). However I guarantee they would not extend the courtesy to our soldiers. I think it just shows how respectable the U.S. is to follow the rules of war when facing two enemies who don't.

NO!!! I do not watch NBC and that story would make me have to disobey that stupid order, then I would have to make a report on the people who made that order not to fire.
