Violent civil unrest will drag on for much longer than 3 years. However, it may not be at level high enough to call it a "war".

The US will probably be tied up in Iraq for about 3 years.

The struggle against Islamofascism will continue for many years -- possibly until the end of this century -- because these people (the Islamofasicsts) have sworn to annihilate us. They are in for the long haul. They are smart, ruthless, and ready to die to reach their stated goal: world domination.

The US will re-instate the military draft (for men) within five years.

If you are a young man, in high school or college, I suggest that look into ROTC. Also start learning a language which will make you valuable to the military: learn arabic, persian, turkish, russian, chinese, korean, or computer-related skills.

If you do this, you can serve your country (our America) as an intelligence-analyst -- at a desk, using your brains for the common good, rather than running across a field carrying a gun.

I sincerely hope not. Maybe if the Dems win in '08 but, I'm sorry to say that it will probably take a lot longer to clean up this mess. I hope that the 1st thing on their agenda is to investigate and prosecute the ENTIRE Bush administration.

Bush and co. were thinking more along the lines of 13 years. They have a lot more oil digging to do but the insurgents aren't letting them get their way.
