Sweaty I feel for you and your friend. I got family and friends over there too. But I hate to say this: its gonna be a looooooong time, before they come home. Even if the democrats win mid term elections and the presidential in 08, its gonna take a lot of "house cleaning" before that place is stabilized if ever. And after that there are other hot spots in the world that will more than likely need military intervention. Good Luck to your friends over there, may they be safe and in good spirits. You just keep thinking positive and keep sending them emails.

We will deffinately be over ther for another 12 months. Don't say he is already dead......do you know how many troops get rotated in and out of there? You see almost 3,000 people dead, and thats all. There have been over 1 million Soldiers there and back, some twice and more.

You should be happy and proud of your friend for doing what most people don't have the guts for. We need more people like him in the sevice. I dislike when people always look at the negetive side of the house. Look and think positive.

No offense to you but, I too have experienced Iraq, and it is a touchy topic. I just don't like it when the American public who dont really know or have any experience of what we do or what we are about. The troops over there, including your friend, needs support from family and friends. When he/she doesn't, he/she gets complacent and risks his/her life even more. Give him support and let him know how proud you are.

For anyone interested in 9/11 check out this site: http://www.wanttoknow.info/9-11timeline60pg

Its a time line of events surrounding 9/11 from the 70's to the present and each entry has references from the main stream media to back it up. No theories, just facts. Excellent reading.

I'm sorry to tell you my friend that our goverments have ****** up so badly, our boys and girls are gonna be there for a long, long time to come.Bush diverted resourses from Afghanistan at a time when we had the best chance of beating the fundementalist bastards.Bush wanted to invade Iraq and that REALLY messed things up.Now he's in such a shithole that, for me,he's already lost his precious little 'war on terror'.Go onto these extremists websites and look how they're manipulating what he's done. Then, just for a second or two,put yourself in the shoes of a young, impressionable muslim and see how their words could seem to make sense. They areputting the word 'crusader' to very good use and its working.

Oh shut up, do you realize what a moron you sound like? They will be over there longer than a minute or they wouldn't have sent your friend. And your question makes you sound like a child. You can't think of it as if he died, how do you think that would make him feel. I mean I know its scary but you need to think positive while he is there.

In 2003, I predicted 20 years. We have 17 years to go, unless we are kicked out earlier.

We will be there at least until Bush is out. Bush and Cheney have even admitted that the intelligence was wrong and Iraq was a mistake but they refuse to pull out. You tell me they're not getting something out of it.

we're never leaving iraq. that's valuable real estate. essentially, even though we're not siphoning all of iraq's oil, the forward operating bases and airstations are EXTREMELY valuable to centcom. in the words of carlos mencia, those middle eastern guys had better learn to say "supersize me"
