They are supposed to teach about their religion, not tell people what to belive. The Bible was pretty clear about missionary work and that it's important.

The point of missionaries from a Christian perspective is to share the word with others. In a lot of countries it is illegal to do that, so they go there and provide schooling, medical services, dig wells, etc. as an expression of God's love. Its called "lifestyle evangelism". They are not being told what to believe. That sort of missionary work ended a few hundred years ago. Most religions have missionaries of some kind or another, and I have even encountered a few myself. I would not say I was unhappy about hearing what they had to say, but it was interesting to hear the clash of ideologies and I think we both came away with a better understanding of the other.

God wants to get his word and gospel out to all of his children, therefore it take missionaries to spread this word and teach his people. Unfortunately, not all missionaries have the true word of God and often times have personal or alternative ambitions. One can determine which missionaries are bringing the true message by softening his heart and listen to the spirit of the Holy Ghost. True missionaries will help you learn how to do this. Compare what is being taught by what you know to be good and true. God loves every single person who has ever walked on the earth and wants them to have all of the happiness they can have. Read the scriptures, ponder and pray that you can know and live the truth when you hear it.

We'll until you all have actually have been a missionary to another country and have walked in the steps that they have been in. You have no idea how Hard its been. It is not as easy as you think it is. They turn you down left and right and it takes year's to get people to listen to you before they convert to your religion. Just like people in America.

Whether the you like it or not the Bible commands Christians to go into all the world and preach the Gospel , or good news that Christ died for our sins and we can go to heaven to be with God when we die.
Muslims do not go about telling people that allah loves them and has a plan for their lives and it includes saving their souls. If islam were so good and loving I would imagine that they would feel inclined to do that, but they don't.. I have never read that allah loves the unsaved or that there is a plan to be saved. Only Christianity has teaching like that.
The only one you hear from them is "allah akabar" (god is great) just before the explosion.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

I am not threatened by people telling me what they believe, but here is the answer to your question:
"For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile--the same Lord is Lord of all and the same richly blesses all who call on him, for 'Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.'" How, then can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? and how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, 'How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!'" (Romans 10:12-15, NIV)
Missionaries travel to other places to tell people "good news." They believe that their good news will not only offer people hope for eternity, but offers them hope for today as well, and they are willing to make great sacrifices in the hopes that others will believe and experience the great blessings that God promises.

They spead their idea of the truth. They are sometimes very pushy, but since the church has money they can do this. My friend is a mossionary, and she went to Greenland. She knocked on people's doors and offered to teach them about the Mormon religion. She always stopped if they asked her, and she never pressured them. This is a good missionary. A bad missionary are the ones I get--the bible thumpers. But I love screwing with their heads...

Missionaries don't just bring Jesus to the people. They also bring much NEEDED medicines and health care to the people. READ man! DON'T just listen to COFFEE SHOP PHILOSOPHERS (HA!)! Why don't you READ a book, called,"Through Gates of Glory," and when you get done with THAT one, read,"BRUCHKO," by Bruce Olsen. You might learn something about yourself.

Missionary is not to tell people what to believe,
rather they are spreading the gospel messages,
whether belive or not , is entirely upto you.
