While the grocery stores and walmart stores are over saturated with new whitening systems, only one rings true to do the job to your liking. You should seek a dental practice for whitening. LumaArch, Britesmile to name two are lazer whitening in office and run about $700.00 or you could use nitewhite which is a great home care system which has 22% carbamead peroxide and is pretty much the strongest home care without causing alot of sensativity to your teeth. This system runs anywhere from $200-$400.
When you go to the stores to purchase bleaching systems the FDA does not regulate over a 1-5% peroxide level to be bought over the counter. The only place you are allowed to purchase is from a dental office- because a patient needs to be educated about the effect of bleaching. I hope this has given you some insight

Any that uses hydrogen peroxide gel in trays. But... none will work unless you leep your teeth scrupulously clean. Brushed, flossed and perhaps a mouthrinse too. Clear your mouth with fresh water after hygiene, before using the gel; Follow the instructions to the letter. Absolutely to the letter!
Whitening systems will not whiten flourosis affected teeth or those discoloured by composite fillings, cements etc..
If you have nicotine stained teeth, get a thorough prophylaxis at the dentist before embarking on any self treatment. The dentist / hygienist will use abrasive polishes in special rubber cups to remove any external staining.
Teeth whitening just bleaches the enamel. As enamel is organic, like with dyed hair, the natural colour will return. so keeping up the treatment will be necessary.

The crest white strips are about $30 bucks at Wal-mart. I've found some cheaper brands that you leave on your teeth for 30 minutes but they are waxy and bulky. I like the crest strips because they are thin. Use a good whitening toothpaste. If you don't want to invest in the the strips try a more expensive whitening toothpaste like Rembrandt.

I use a 35% whitening kit sold on eBay. It works great and is a lot less expensive than the strips and things in the store. I think it works better too. I just checked the eBay store and they don't have a kit listed right now, but I bet they will soon. I will give you the link so if you are interested you can go there. Be sure to get the kit or you won't have the dental trays to put the gel in. Here's the link:

Brush as you would normally brush all but one day of the week. On that day, replace your toothpaste with baking soda. This should whiten your teeth cheaply, quickly, and without making them brittle.
Another option would be to purchase a whitening toothpaste or gel. I wouldn't recommend Crest Whitestrips, as they only whiten a few of the front teeth and leave them brittle in the process.

Crest white strips. My niece had braces for a while and when she took her braces off, her teeth was so discolored. She used the Crest white strips and her teeth look like she got them whitened by a dentist.

I use an off-brand whitening paste. It was only two dollars, compared to nearly thirty dollars for crest white strips, and I think it works just as well.

If you do the home stuff, the Crest white strips, don't bother with the fancy, the cheapie works best.... Consumer reports says so.
But if you want super white? Like un-natural white? Go to the dentist and shell out the $300.
