Just make yourself go. This will give you energy.

You are not "lazy," you are tired. After a long day, who isn't? You can work around this by going to the gym before work or school instead of after. It will start your metabolism for the day and give you more energy all day. Even if you just work out for a short time in the morning, it will energize you enough to walk in the evening. Then, all that free time at night--? Go to bed earlier. It will help you feel more rested and you'll do better on your morning workout, plus sleeping is super healthy!!! Good luck!!

Okay, you're talking to one of the laziest people around here (you don't get to weigh 400 pounds because you adore sweating). I'm down 120 pounds (so far), which means lots of exercise. There have DEFINITELY been days when I wasn't feeling it.

For me, part of the answer was rethinking how I look at my life, including exercise. How serious am I about doing the things I say I want to do in life? Getting in shape was one of those things, yet I let it slide, or didn't do it because (pick one) I'd had a long day, I was tired, in a bad mood, or wanted to "indulge" myself. When you get right on down to it, I wanted the results, but didn't want the effort involved.

When I realized I was excusing myself right out of the things I wanted in life, I had to ask myself if I was worth the effort. If the answer was "no," then I needed to get help. If the answer was "yes," then it was time to take better care of myself.

Exercise is my prescription. People who don't exercise end up taking all kinds of pills at some point, and exercise can help prevent that.

I'm never going to be an athlete, although I have found exercises I enjoy more than others. If the gym isn't doing it for you, you might try different classes (dance, spin, aerobics, yoga) until you find something you like.

So maybe you won't like any of them as well as you like sitting on the sofa. If that's true, look at giving up the gym membership for an exercise bike or treadmill or just stepping back and forth in front of the t.v. - no t.v. unless you're moving.

Here are my rules - maybe some will work for you:

1) Try different things so you don't get bored. Dance, basketball, lawn mowing, step aerobics - movement = exercise.

2) No t.v. without movement, unless you're sick.

3) Do it first thing in the morning, even if it means going to bed earlier and getting up earlier - I like starting the day knowing that it's done, and if I don't feel like it first thing in the day, I'm less likely to feel like it later.

4) On the days when you just don't want to, remind yourself that you want the results, and do it because you've promised yourself you will. It feels good to keep a promise to yourself, and after the exercise, you'll feel better.

Good luck!

First - never think about what you are doing, just try and go without anticipating. Trick yourself into thinking you are going to the grocery store or something.
Second - you could try working out first thing in the morning after you wake up - I've found this works better for me - the last thing I want to do after 8 hours of work and 2 hours commuting is ....well ANYTHING. You could try that, or you could try taking a half hour nap after work and then working out.

It's best to go right from work, this way you don't go home first! This is what most people do at our club. You'll feel better the more you go, you'll have more energy. The hardest part is the starting, after this it's easier because you start seeing results and feeling better.

Get a workout buddy or buddies. Get your bf/gf to go along with you. Make working out a 'chore' or something that must be done. Vary your workouts, and you don't need to go to the gym to work out all the time. You can go take a nice walk in your neighborhood, or a bike ride or jog.

I know this sounds sort of oxymoronic because of the question . . but trust me, FORCE yourself to go to the gym 3 days a week, next thing you know you'll be skipping work to go to the gym.

You just have to get that little fire started and then you'll be so happy and full of energy that you did, trust me, it worked for me!

When I used to go to the gym I had a work out buddy. She always went, so I felt guilty if I didn't go.

Do you know anyone who would be your work out buddy?

Don't go to the GYM! You look great already! No need to loose anymore weight. If know one has told you lately, " You are Beautiful!"

*** Sex is always a good way to loose weight!
