the main problems is that the schools are preparing them to live in boxes by the creek thats what. they need to push children more!!

Lack of discipline and watered down work. You are right about their low expectations. We now rank 12th in the world in math. Shocking!

the problem is the superintendent of the school board is making over $100,000 a year but a teacher has a budget of 5 cents per student to spend on school supplies.

Sometimes they hire bad teachers who aren't willing to go the extra mile to help the students. Other times the students don't want to learn. It's a toss up.

Teachers who aren't being paid nearly enough for their efforts. It's getting so they have to buy supplies like chalk and erasers with their own salaries, which isn't much to begin with!

I mentioned this same issue to my children's math teacher, my son's are WAY ahead of what they are teaching. I will continue to press this issue. All children need to be challenged to their full capacity.
