It doesn't matter if it's stupid, retarded, etc.

JUST WRITE IT.

You're thinking too much. If you enjoy writing then write. You will get better the more you do it.

There are tons of different writing excerises you can try:

Heres a few:

Give yourself a minute and think of all the oppening lines you can, pick the best and just write from it and see where it goes

Pick a line from a book randomly and carry it on in your own story

Write down what your thinking litterally 'I am thinking about writing this but it just seems so stupid to write it down as i dont think it will help...' Write as the thoughts come!

All these are excersizes to get you in the right frame of mind, if you find a story you like doing these all the better!

As for writing a story with a stupid ending and so on, maybe you would feel better planning it? Also, try not to rush the ending and spend time on it, it can often seem stupid only cus its a little rushed. Personally for endings I like to leave a bit of mystery and intrigue as if the problem is FULLY solved it makes the end seem very. FINAL (Yeh, I know thats what an end is supposed to be but I cant really describe what I mean)

If possible, think about your story a lot before you start to write. Have an idea of the beginning, middle, and end before you even begin, and consider different possible endings. Allow time to revise your story--don't stick with the first draft. Have others read your first draft and give suggestions.

I wish you had given us an example of your story writing.

Try making an ending that is totally unexpected. For example, the hero or heroine does NOT live happily ever after.

Don't talk down to them. Put in a few words they don't know. Maybe include a section of definitions at the front or back.
Throw in the unexpected.
Only have 'up' talk about your writing.
