The surgery can be done laproscopically, and it's really straight forward. My surgery only took 3 hours, and I was back to 80% and able to work within 5 days and back to 100% within 8 days. The 1st 24 hours I had a lot of pain, but they can provide you with pain medication to help you very quickly. I only had a few 10 minute bouts of extreme pain that were quickly fixed with morphine. Your stomach muscles will be weak and sore, so don't push yourself. Make sure you have a friend or family member to help you when lying down/getting up. Don't lift anything, take it easy, only take Tylenol and the medicine prescribed by your doctor. Prop up lots of pillows on your bed to make it easier to lie down and get up.

You will be a little sore for a while, especially getting in and out of bed, take it slow. I had it done a couple years back. It is much, much less pain then the gallbladder attacks. Remember also to avoid fatty foods after having the surgery. You will figure out very fast why and I do mean fast. Best wishes!

If you are having a lot of pain now, the relief will be wonderful. Yes, you will have some pain, after all, your body has been compromised. You will get over that quickly, especially if you get up and walk alot. One thing you can expect afterward is (ugh) diarrhea when you eat certain foods. Since the bile has nowhere to go it goes directly into your intestines and irritates it. Keep some anti diarrhea medicine on hand. Hope you feel better.

What should you expect?...
If you are lucky enough to do it by laser
you will have some pain the first few days, but not excruciating
for the 6 mos. afterwards, greasy foods will bother you digestive system (cheese, fries, fried food, etc.)
After that, you're home free
If they have to cut you open the old fashioned way...(I had that)
Be in the hospital for 4 days on a liquid diet with a drain tube coming out of you
Be on morphine for 2 1/2 days
Be in severe pain when you get up off the bed and when your lungs move to breath
Have a renewed appreciative of your health
Still have trouble with greasy food for 6 mos. afterwards

Expect, pain but your doctor should be giving you meds to control it. If your gallbladder needs removing you already know about pain. Watch your diet and baby yourself. NO STRESS. As soon as you're able start taking short walks daily.

yes you will be in pain....depends which kind of surgery your having as well. I had four incisions made and the one incision by my belly button was the worst of all of them. I heard if you actually get cut that is even more painful.
If you cough, laugh, walk fast etc it hurts a lot, but after your first week after the surgery you should be ok. You won't be able to drive either for a couple of days.

exciting question. No, I incredibly have not had my gallbladder bumped off. yet fibromyalgia is a set of indications. it is not a scientific situation (i'm not sure what the remarkable term is). by utilising this I propose, you've got a headache. it is a symptom, and could be a symptom of dozens of circumstances. Fibromyalgia is an identical way.

It depends on how they cut you. If you have the laparoscopic surgery, you can be up and moving around later that day... on the other hand, if your gallbladder bursts, they'll have to open you up and that is very painful and the risks increase significantly.

Well I had mine taken out last year, it is not all that bad. I was home eating pizza that same day. Your back hurts though, just make sure you fill your pain meds and take it easy for a week or two. I had staples in and they look worse than they feel. You will be fine and good luck!
