I'd like something that is relatively simple to use and doesn't cost a fortune. Maybe under $250 is fine. There seem to be so many programs out there all claiming to do the same thing. So, I'd appreciate some good suggestions.

I have heard that Adobe Premiere is the best in the industry. Get the Elements version, for the better price. In the market below $250.00, I think the best editor is Pinnacle Studio. You can get it for less than $100.00!

It has two video tracks for overlays, picture in picture and other effects. The orginial audio track, a sound effect track and a separate music track. This editor would do a great job on your music videos.

If you haven't had any experience with this, you may want to start with Windows Movie Maker. It can do a lot more than most people give it credit for. After you've got that down and want to move on to more advanced things, there is Adobe Premier and Pinnacle Studio. Pinnacle is considerably cheaper, but runs far slower. Either way you will want to have a very fast computer (at least 3ghz processor and 1gb ram) if you want to encode and edit your video with any sort of efficiency. If it is available to you, you may also want to try a Mac. They are far superior to Windows computers in video editing. Adobe Premier is what I use. I believe it is 650 bucks, or free depending on how you look at it. It is really the only Windows software comparable to what a Mac can do, but it is not very user-friendly if you don't know what you are doing. It will take a while to learn. Hope this helped you out a bit, and good luck with your video!
