Farenheit = 9/5 (celsius + 40) - 40
Celsius = 5/9 (Ferenheit + 40) - 40
So if you want to convert 100 degrees celsius to farenheit, you would take 100 degrees C, and 40 to get 140 degrees C, multiply by 9/5 (or 1.8) to get 252, then subtract 40 to give you 212.0 degrees farenheit.
If you wanted to convert 100 degrees farenheit to celsius, you would take 100 degrees F, add 40 to get 140 degrees F, multiply by 5/9 (or .5555) to get 77.77, then subtract 40 to give you 37.77 degrees C.

To make it easier for you and close enough: Multiply Celsius times 2 and add 32. It is pretty close.

OK, here's one you can (usually) do in your head without a laptop or calculator:
+40, -40 method of conversion------ (works for F to C or C to F)
Add 40 to the number.
Multiply by 5/9 for F to C or 9/5 for C to F
Subtract 40
THATS IT!
