Montrealer here!
I was so terribly shocked to hear about the shooting... Reminded me of the Polytechnique disaster that happened a few years ago...
It's hard to understand, I mean nothing dramatic ever happens in Montreal (which is a very good thing) and now this is totally throwing me off...
My best friend goes to Dawson College, and I was *so* worried about her...
I go to another college in Montreal (french-speaking) ... It was crazy today, everybody was crying and making phone calls to check on their friends and see if they're ok...
To answer your question, I absolutely agree with you and I don't think I'll ever feel safe at school any more...

I have a few friends that go to Dawson and it really is traumatizing.
I just pray for the victims and I thank God that the f*cker got shot in the head...
Who would have ever thought that it would have happened in Montreal.. or basically so close to me. Life is so fragile and anything is possible.
A lot of sick people out there, it's just a pity that they find the need to go kill the innocent.
I was at dawson two days ago, and just thinking about it gives me the shivers.
WHY??!??!...

How disturbed does one have to be to think that going in to a school and shooting people is considered to be a good idea!?!?!
This guy was a wimp..he was not able to take his own life away on his own so he had the cops do it for him. He took the life of another student and injured 20 in the process!
Did he not have any friends/sibling that knew what he was up to and how twisted he was? Being a teenager is hard enough as it is without having to worry about going to school and being shot.
We as Canadians look at the US and think that our country is safer than theirs. During Columbine, when I was in college, we told ourselves that this will never happen here because our society is not as violent...well guess what? Apparently we are!

I think there is only one suspect. The news has just confirmed it. 25 years old white male, dressed in black, trenchcoat, army boots, no apparent motive. One girl died of her wounds. The suspect has been shot down by policemen, and died at the scene. He was shot in the stomach.
Answers? If there are any, they will not be pleasant.
Montrealer, as well.

Yeah, I know. Unfortunately, these days, instead of the shock and horror we should feel, we tend to just shake our heads. It's not as horrible as some recent things anymore. THAT'S really sad!
