I am open-minded about who will go to Heaven and I am a Bible believing Christian person. My particular religion makes no difference here. It doesn't matter what religion you profess to belong to, whether Baptist, Catholic, Pentecostal, or whatever it may be as I can't name them all here. What matters is that you have trusted Jesus Christ as your savior and Lord and asked Him by faith to come into your heart, forgive you of your sins, and change your life, so that you may have eternal life.

There is no different God for each religion. There is only one God.

I "grew up" spiritually in a baptist church. My husbands family is Catholic.

My mother in law stubbornly refuses to believe her bible to this day. My sister in law understood that she needed to accept the bible above the pope and she asked for and received Jesus Christ into her heart. She still worships within the Catholic heirarchy along with her family.

There was a bit of trouble when she wouldnt just have her daughters confirmed because it was "time". She waited until they understood exactly what they believed in and why. But she stuck to her guns.

I also know other Catholics that have actually read their own bibles and chose the bible over the Catholic dogma.

So, no, regardless of choice of where and how to worship, the only thing standing between anyone as far as heaven and hell goes is if you accept the bible and All that it says as truth.

It would be very wrong to think that a way of worship was how you receive eternal life and salvation.

Sounds like you don't know what you are talking about. Religion won't save anyone. Religion is man made. Faith in Christ is what is required. No where does it say become a Baptist or be baptized a Catholic and you will be saved. It's not about these institutions that man has built it's all about what a person does with Jesus Christ... Jim

Jesus taught that He is the way so it won't matter whether you are baptist or catholic but whether you have followed Jesus' way or not. one thing we know is that Jesus way is the way of faith and catholics teach works have to be done to receive eternal life. So personally I think I would seek what God says in His word, no what the pope says or tradition. If you can't find it in the Bible don't believe it.

probably, I can't speak for Catholics, but I know we (Southern Baptists) think the bible is the true word of God, and we do things by the Bible, and believe if you do it another way it's wrong. I realize that sounds very narrow minded, but why would He give us the Bible if He didn't want us to use it?.

Bible-believing Baptists and Catholics believe that those who accept Jesus' blood sacrifice for the forgiveness of sins will be saved.

Catholics believe that other Christians will go to heaven.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church states:

Furthermore, many elements of sanctification and of truth are found outside the visible confines of the Catholic Church
+ The written Word of God
+ The life of grace
+ Faith, hope, and charity, with the other interior gifts of the Holy Spirit, as well as visible elements.

Christ's Spirit uses these Churches and ecclesial communities as means of salvation, whose power derives from the fullness of grace and truth that Christ has entrusted to the Catholic Church.

All these blessings come from Christ and lead to him.

With love in Christ.

I can't speak as to Baptists but Catholics certainly believe Baptists can go to heaven.

And muslims too, if it comes to that.

The way to heaven is clearly identified in The Bible, whether it be the Protestant or the Catholic Bible.

Further, it is explained well in The Book of Mormon too.

Give them a read if you want the answers.
