Mom's Homemade Coleslaw
1 head cabbage, core removed, shredded
1 carrot, shredded
1 cup mayonnaise (Duke's, Kraft, etc.)
1 packet sweet-n-low (or to taste) (1 pkt. is equal to 2 tsp. sugar)
2 tbsp. water, milk, or evaporated milk

In bowl combine mayonnaise, sweet-n-low and water. Mix well. Pour over cabbage and carrot in large bowl. Mix well and chill.



DELI STYLE POTATO SALAD
8-10 large potatoes
half of a medium onion, diced
2 tbsp. sweet pickle relish (or dill relish)
1/4 cup celery, sliced thin
1 1/2 cups miracle whip
2 tbsp. prepared mustard
1/2 tsp. celery seed
sugar, salt and pepper to taste

Peel potatoes and place in a large pot of boiling water. Cook until tender, drain and refrigerate until chilled. Chop coarsely. In large bowl combine miracle whip, mustard, celery seed, sugar, salt and pepper. Reserve 1/4 cup of dressing. Add onion and potatoes to dressing. Mix well and refrigerate overnight. If salad is too dry, add 2 tbsp. of water to reserved dressing and mix into salad to loosen. Add salt and pepper to taste.

corn on the cob, cole slaw, salad, green beans. a lot of things other than french fries can go with s/joes

I pulled a couple recipes for some side dishes I think would work out really well :)

Red & Green Slaw

4 cups shredded red cabbage (about 1/2 of a medium head)
4 cups shredded green cabbage (about 1/2 of a medium head)
2 medium carrots, shredded
1/2 cup raisins
2 Tbsp. chopped fresh parsley
1 green onion, sliced
1 cup KRAFT Coleslaw Dressing
3 Tbsp. apple jelly

COMBINE cabbages, carrots, raisins, parsley and onions in large bowl; set aside.
MIX dressing and jelly until well blended. Add to cabbage mixture; mix lightly. Cover.
REFRIGERATE at least 1 hour before serving.

Slow Cooker Baked Beans

3 cans (15 oz. each) pinto beans, drained, rinsed
1 cup KRAFT Original Barbecue Sauce
1 small onion, chopped
1/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
2 slices OSCAR MAYER Bacon, chopped

PLACE all ingredients in slow cooker; mix well. Cover with lid.
COOK on LOW for 4 to 6 hours (or on HIGH for 3 hours).

Macaroni Salad

1 pkg. (28 oz.) or 2 pkg. (14 oz. each) KRAFT Deluxe Macaroni & Cheese Dinner
1 cup MIRACLE WHIP Dressing
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup sliced green onions
4 hard-cooked eggs, peeled, chopped
1/2 cup finely chopped celery
1 small red pepper, finely chopped

COOK Macaroni as directed on package; drain. Rinse under cold running water until completely cooled. Drain well.
MEANWHILE, mix Cheese Sauce, dressing and milk in large bowl until well blended. Stir in green onions.
ADD macaroni and remaining ingredients to sauce mixture; stir gently until well blended. Serve immediately. Or, cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.

A good green salad with ranch dressing and top it off with strawberry short cake for dessert . Yummm
