Hi, well if you are thinking of getting her an engagement ring, as i can tell from your question, then just take her to buy any ring for the time being any ring make an excuse that you want to buy one as you have never bought her one before, and when she is at the store. just ask if you can measure he engagement finger but on the other hand if you like as it is the same on both hand. The store will have ring sze charts that they put on the fingers, just ask if you can measure her finger then give it back. Leave it for a few months then propose when she has forgot about it. Other than that just ask if she would marry you and let her pick her own, but you sound romantic so do it your way. xxxx

Take her to a store that is having s SALE on jewelry (JC Penney just had one) and start with necklaces. Try one on her that you like, then go to earings, and work your way to rings (not diamonds, things like blue star saffire, red stones, etc.) Take your time. Have her try a few on and have the salesperson get her ring measurement. Tell you are curious and want to see what other fingers are sized at. Play around with different finger sizes and be sure to memorize the right finger!!! She'll never know if you focus on the ring and not her finger! Good luck and much happiness!

If she doesnt own any rings then I really dont know a way you could measure her finger without her being suspicious. Maybe a ring pull from a beer can? Probably too big though. My fiancee surprised me with a ring and it was a little too big but was easily altered at the jeweller afterwards.

Do NOT listen to that "shoe size, ring size" garbage!
I wear a 7.5 ring, and a 9.5/10 for shoes. I'm tall with long fingers and feet. I would buy her a cheap ring as a gift.
Since it's fair season, take her to one of those jewelry booths and offer to buy her one of the rings there. They have pretty silver rings, usually from $10-$30 dollars. You won't have to spend too much, and the information is priceless! Good luck!

Since she doesn't wear any rings try something like touching her hands and making comment about the size of both your hand and if you know you size tell her i wear a 10 on my ring finger yours are alot smaller than mine. Do you know what size your finger is... Should work without giving a clue.

You don't need an ingenious way. Rings come in a standard size, usually a size 7. After you give her the ring, she gets the store to size it up or down. Easy-peasy, eh?

Lots of good ideas, but definitely don't believe the bit about shoe size/ring size. It may work for some, but it's certainly not a reliable way to go. (And panty size? That's got to be the silliest thing I've heard all day.)

If you're thinking about proposing, chances are pretty good she's thinking about it too, and she's probably talked to her girlfriends about it. I just got engaged, and I'd talked to both my mom and my best friend about what type of ring, wedding, honeymoon, etc, etc, etc I'd like. My friend even said at one point, "Do you even know your ring size?" I didn't even clue in that he'd asked her to find out, since it came up so casually.

Ask her if she has ever tried on an Avon ring because your sister, mom or co worker bought one and the size she wore was way different than what the ring was, and wasn't it good that Avon has such a good return policy. Bet you she will come up with her own story about a wrong size ring, try it

snag one of her rings that she doesn't wear and get the size from it.

GO shopping, at a department store. They have "cocktail rings" that are flashy and not something people would generally wear. Get her to try a couple on, just playing around. They generally have sizes marked on them. In the instance that they did not, ask the sales girl for a different ring in the same size as the one she tried on. Good luck!
