It depends on what state you live in-in some states the age of consent is 16 and in some it isn't.I would check into the laws in your state. Good Luck!

I'd like to provide you with one more piece of information that I hope will be helpful to you in understanding something important that was not (I don't think) mentioned in the above answers.
Whether your parents press charges or not is not much of a factor in a statutory rape case. There is no requirement that a parent press charges or not press charges. The parent has no say in the matter at all, except that they have the option of being the first to report the matter to the police.
Your predicament can be brought to the attention of the police by anyone, including hospitals and doctors. In most cases, these places are required by law to report cases like you described. It's not an option for them.
You're committed love for your boyfriend will also not have any effect on whether charges are filed or how the case resolves itself. If statistics prove true in your case, you're boyfriend will not be with you in 2 or 3 years and you will be a single mother with a tough road ahead. That's not (seemingly) a kind thing for me to say, but you'll beat considerable odds if it turns out any different.
You're boyfriend, at age 19....already saying he won't talk to you, is showing pretty profoundly his lack of maturity in the matter, and he's giving a pretty clear signal that he doesn't plan on being a family man and parental partner with you.
As blunt as all that's put....I nevertheless wish you as good a fortune as possible in your life, and in that of your child.

Yes, your parents can press charges. Unless the legal age of consent in NJ is 16 and over. Even still, they may be able to press charges because he got you pregnant.

well, ive seen this in court before and it can go either way, first maryland law says that no one can have sex with a minor who is under 18 its against the law and i seen someone get 18 months for that he was 18 she was 14, so yes they can but its up to the judge to really decide if since you are 16 and hes 19 if really any law is broken especially if u say its concesenual and that its love, heck it happens all the time, my daughter got pregnant at 15 by a 19 year old, it happens

yes statutory rape in some states. Statutory rape is actually considered a crime against you parents because your boyfriend did not have their consent.even if he had yours.
If you intend to keep your child make sure you put his name on the birth certificate so you can get child support from him. That is the only way you will be able to see him and by then he will probably have a new girl friend so don't count on resuming your relationship with. If he doesn't want to talk to you he doesn't love you, get that through your head.
Next time you have sex use birthcontrol or better still don't engage in casual sex. Now you see one of the consequenses of having unportected sex. You are lucky he didn't give you a sexually transmitted disease.

Yes, they can press charges. Why didn't you be careful? It's not easy for a 16 year old to bring up a child.

Yes, they can, but you'll be called in as a witness/victim and what you say is all that really matters in the court. If you say it was by consent, then it can't be called rape, but what is likley to happen is that your BF will end up having to pay for the baby's welfare and Childsupport.

it depends on what state you live in but you may be the age of consent and not know it (along with some other life saving information) If he doesn't want to speak to you then he's not worth it and was probably just using you and now that it isn't convenient any more he's outta here.

y do u want someone who left you? makes no sense. think logically, and realize that he is not good enough for you.
ur parents Should press charges so that he will at least be responsible monetarily. do not let him back even if he wants to; he is not a man. he has not taken responsiblity for his actions. he should protect and take care of u, not leave you.
