It was a dive. There may have been a contact, but it wasn't a foul, and Giggs threw himself down. Cheating, pure and simple.

Ronaldo is in a class of his own as a cheat but that penalty Giggs won against Celtic was never, ever a penalty. I dont think even he was looking for it and it was a real home town decision.

I think when Ronaldo first got to the Premier League he went down far too easily. But I do think he's getting better at staying on his feet. I'd say 90% of the time he does get knocked and really should stay on his feet but goes down, but he DOES get knocked. I find even the most honest player tends to throw themselves to the floor in the penalty box. Rooney is just as bad as if not worse than Ronaldo (just my opinon, put down the weapons).
I haven't noticed Giggs diving too much but I have noticed Steven Gerrard 'simulating' a lot lately with barely a touch on him...but that's football these days I guess :)

why am i suprized that of all people you asked that question.
i agree it was not a penalty of that i have no doubt.
but the way buruc came chargeing out i think giggs had a loss of footing which resulted in a injury and he ended the game soon after.
if you want to talk about cheating watch the champions league final 05 again and have a look at you penalty lol
it was a bloody good free kick then lol.

Perhaps he is, although IMHO Stevie G is the player most likely to go down under little or no pressure
