If all countries possess nuclear weapons would that mean an end of war?

Because nuclear weapons are suppossedly a deterrent to aggressors.

There are some governments that are stupid enough to use them, possibly starting a nuclear war that would end life on this planet.

For example: North Korea, Iran.

Even if they didn't use them, they might give them to Al Queda to use on US soil.

The accidental launch of nuclear weapons would assure our destruction. The 20+ accidental or close calls in the past 60 years between the super powers is enough. I can't imagine a world with martyrs and rogue leaders' fingers on the button.

no, that's called a stalemate or cold war.. and not even that really because obviously some will have more weapons and more effecient means to use them.

for instance, the US w/ n.w's versus Cuba w/ n.w's isn't really a fair fight. but if Cuba had a powerful armed supporter (like say, Russia) then the situation would look like the Cuban Missile Crisis which was just a stand-off between the US and a Russian proxy.
