The Gregorian calendar was invented in the 16th Century.
No one invented a brand new calendar in the 1st Century.
Jews continue to use the same calendar they used in those days and it currently around the year 6,000 on the Jewish calendar.
Your diatribe does not alter the fact the Jesus story is a myth. If he existed, he was little more than just another David Koresh type lunatic running around claiming to be the Messiah. But, there is no credible evidence to support the claim he even existed.
Glad you have an imaginary friend to love you and you can play with.

Hi, yeah, thanks to the domination and aggression the Catholic church in the middle ages, the Gregorian calendar was officially adopted and the popularity of the calendar spread in Europe, which helped establish it as the Calendar used by the world. Also note that some people prefer to use the terms B.C.E (Before Common Era) and C.E. (common era) instead of B.C. and A.D.
And to get to the point, I'm glad you have a really good friend to look up to, but just to establish a point, a lot of the world doesn't believe in Jesus.

David,
You are a Christian. Stop this evil and deceptive form of missionizing. It degrades Christianity.

. It is, by definition, impossible for it to be "jewish" to believe in jesus. "Jewish" is, by defintion, what jews have historically and contemporarily believe. Since in neither scenario do we find "believing in jesus", then we must clearly realize that belief in jesus is not something "jewish". You can call it "biblical" (and still be wrong), but certainly not "jewish".
. On the side, the subject of Isaiah 53 is promised a "long life" and "seed" (i.e. physical children). Clearly this isn't about jesus.
. And Isaiah 7 is clearly not messianic if you read the whole chapter. and "alma" doesn't mean virgin either. You'd know that if you spoke hebrew (I guess it wasn't part of your "extensive jewish upbringing", huh?)
. On the side, Isaiah 9 can't be about jesus since, according to christianity, he's the "son" not the "father" (as the verse states). Nor did he have control of the government (to the contrary, the roman government killed him). And he certainly did not establish "endless peace".

oh, and lastly, I've decided that you truly epitomize everything I find intensely intellectually unsatisfying about christianity. (And you clearly do not understand hebrew.)

Brother, I say this in this the most humble fashion as possible, for I esteem you higher than I do myself, but your mode of thinking, line of questioning, and position of your heart, is far away from the Lord in this question that you have posed. I to am a born again Christian who is in love with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, but I will not submit to the ideology that because you don't believe in Jesus you are stupid or an idiot. The Pharisees spoke that same way when they saw Jesus eating and speaking with the Prostitutes and thieves, and all those that were considered unclean. He spoke of them as hypocrites and devils. Please understand that the doctrine that you are releasing into the world right now is one of division and is of the flesh. I see no fruits of the Spirit of God in there. Please check the position of your heart and rebuke pride and haughtiness in Jesus name. May Revelation be given to you by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

ok, firstly, even however i'm an atheist, i think of that's exceedingly possibly that Jesus existed. despite if the information for Jesus' life isn't just about as reliable as for Martin Luther King or Abraham Lincoln. honestly no longer something became written approximately Jesus throughout the time of his lifetime, the earliest information we've comes from Paul and he became writing a minimum of two many years after Jesus' death. Then we've the gospels, yet Matthew and Luke copied from Mark, and John could have additionally copied somewhat from Mark (however we do no longer relatively be responsive to). All of those have been written many many years after Jesus' death. So we've approximately 3 sources for Jesus' life all written long after his lifetime, and probable dozens if no longer 1000's for MLK and Lincoln throughout the time of their lifetime. no longer in straightforward terms that yet we even have photographic information for the two certainly one of them. The information for Jesus basically does no longer evaluate in any respect.

David, let me make a suggestion...
Yelling at people and calling them names will not help your cause.
I love Jesus with all of my heart too; however, I will not judge others for their foolishness! It's God's job to judge, not ours. We will be judged by the measurement in which we judge.
Take a deep breath, cool down...and relax. God is still God. It's all going to be okay. Didn't you read the last book? We win!
God / Jesus ROCKS!!!
(Besides, we know Jesus Lives! Oh, and there's no other man that has walked this earth that has had an effect on history the way Jesus did. Know why? He's God and God gets to do things like that! :o))

First of all, may I counter your argument with this one?
Will you be mean to me if I tell you your beliefs are dead wrong and that you should welcome Apollo and the entire ancient Greek pantheon into your heart? They are most welcome in mine.
Secondly, your calendar argument is faulty. The calendar we use was created thanks to Pope Gregory. Look him up. He's also the compassionate, holy man who started the Inquisition. The blood of millions of innocents are on his hands.
"The Gregorian calendar is the one commonly used today. It was proposed by Aloysius Lilius, a physician from Naples, and adopted by Pope Gregory XIII in accordance with instructions from the Council of Trent (1545-1563) to correct for errors in the older Julian Calendar. It was decreed by Pope Gregory XIII in a papal bull in February 1582."
So the calendar that you are using as your "proof" of the right and true nature of your religion in fact had nothing to do with your religion but was created to fix the flaws of the Julian calendar.

There is no doubt that Jesus existed.
The question is his importance in world events
You refer to only one calendar. There are many, just as there are many forms of belief, all of which claim to be the one true way. None of which are wrong.

Who said Jesus never existed? Most will say he did. It is just he was a man----not G-d. I am sure he was a good man, maybe I can even accept as Islam says----a prophet, for them. But,
G-d is G-d. G-d is One.
And, I bet if your were not so defensive and rude, people would not treat you that way in return.
A man, safe and secure in his religion, would not act as you do. Maybe you are not so sure about what you talk-if you really believe it?

"r u totally stupid-get a grip and stop being mean ok" Thanks for the Judgement, oh poius Christian......
Again, allow me to explain. This Jesus character HAS AFFECTED ME, regardless of what I beleive. How? My hands are, apparently awash in his blood - even though I never asked him to die for me, and I never asked to be born into this world as a "sinner". So, dont tell me your Jesus doesnt affect me - he affects me through the way that YOU (and every other beleiver) perceives ME because I dont agree with you.
