new radio, old one did the same thing, receives good, but very weak sending signal, new mike, new cable, new antenna, had the radio checked, found nothing wrong, any suggestions?

First of all , more than a few miles sending is too much. Get a radio check , giving your 10-20. and find out how far you are transmitting. If still unsatisfied the next step is is to re do the antenna , that is the most common problem. Still fail , mike time. A good power mike really puts the "echo" into it. My handle is "truckman Sam" Look for me on the east coast.

Normally, this symptom is indicative of simply a low wattage unit. I'm not sure what your state allows, but to really get that sig out there, look into SSB ( single side band). And if you don't much care about the FCC, you could add a linear amplifier that would reach well into Mexico if atmospheric conditions were right. But to be courteous, don't step on everybody and monopolize the air waves! Look into website specifically devoted to the CB community. Happy broadcasting!

It could be where you have the antenna mounted or the antenna is not set up for the radio that you have.

Tune it with a SW meter (around $20 at Radio Shack) you want a reading below 1.0

antenna needs tuned or just keep moving it around untill it gets better output
