Was her Husband Irish? Where were they living? What is your nationality? Was her Baby born in Ireland? I need to know the answers to these questions before I can Help you. Anyway,If she has met the residency requirements, then she might be able to claim Irish citizenship provided that she has lives and still lives there. Irish and British Nationality has undergone major changes since last year 2005. E.g. If a polish couple lives and works in the UK, which they are legally allowed to do, and they have a child here in the UK, that child cannot claim British Nationality. If the Couple were Irish, that child WILL be able to claim British nationality as Irish citizens in Britain are automatically deemed to have indefinate leave to remain and Vice Versa.

It takes six years of residency to get an Irish passport, to my knowledge. Why don't you contact a government department to find out? But hold on, she is already an EU citizen, right? So it doesn't matter - holders of EU passports can live and work for a long as they want in other member states, provided they go about the paperwork the right way, and provided they can support themselves or be supported by a partner if they don't work. Find out from the local garda siochana (Irish police) about their nearest office to register with them, they should be able to point you in the right direction.
