The chances of fraternal twins is increased with fertility treatements because those tretements cause your ovaries to release more eggs than they normally would. However using fertility treatments for the purpose of having twins is not reccomended because you release many more than 2 eggs. This is why some couples are having 4-5-6 babies in one shot when on fertility treatments.
If you're interested in having twins naturally, eat yams.

Fraternal, no doubt. Fertility drugs increase the amount of eggs ovulating so multiple eggs can be fertilized at the same time. Identical twins is just a mis-step of sorts in how the egg divides.
Sure you want twins? Before saying yes, PLEASE hang out with someone who has *newborn* twins. You might change your mind.

Fraternal twins are two eggs, identical twins are one egg that splits, so if you take fertility drugs you are more likely to have fraternal twins if you have twins at all. I have twins, fraternal, boy and girl that are three. I was not on any fertility drugs, just runs in my family. Also, fraternal twins run in families, but only on the mothers side, so if twins run in your husbands family, you probably won't have them, but if they run in your family, you have a chance. Identical twins don't run in families. The likelihood of having identical twins is pretty nil, considering that the splitting of the egg is really a freak of nature.

There are a lot of factors that will determine favorable circumstances. Unfortunately, the likelihood of mental retardation is increased greatly for twins when pregnancy was the result of fertility drug stimulation. You might want to consider other options. Consult your OB/GYN.
