who is perfect, sinless, full of love for those he created, kill so many people? Not people who die everyday. Im talking entire cities. Sodom. Gomorrah. According to the fairytales of the Bible he even killed every man, woman, and child one the face of the Earth, except for Noah and his family. In getting the Isrealites freed from slavery in Egypt, didnt he kill the firstborn male of every household? This does not sound like a very caring God. It sounds more like a very mean and spiteful God.
There had to be infants that were killed in the flood. What sins did they commit to be murdered by the all loving God?
If he loves every one of "his children" then how could he murder them?
It seems pretty convienient that each time he has done this there was only one person or family that was good enough to save. The entire Earth and only noah and his family were good enough to save? Come on!

To Carol M: If the world is as corrupt today then why are we still here? Why hasnt he killed us all off yet? It has to be much much worse today then it was 2000 years ago? Whats he waiting for?
The innocent children and babies went straight to Heaven? The fact that he murdered innocent children in the first place isnt enough to Make you sick to you stomach

Good job! If you start with the understanding that the fundamental characteristics of God are Love and perfection, it's impossible to reconcile that with literal interpretations of the stories in the Bible.

So either the Bible is a collection of symbolic stories rather than literal stories, or God is mean, jealous, angry, spiteful, resentful, and prone to making mistakes (the reason he flooded the earth was because he felt he made a mistake and regretted creating man).

Now that you've opened the door of understanding through simple logic and reason, step on through. There is an explanation for all your questions that makes sense. I can help if you're interested.

Seek and you shall find. Good luck my friend.

Well that was in the first testament and that was GOD not Jesus his son. And it said in Genesis Ch. 8:21 The LORD smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: "Never again will I curse the ground because of man, even though every inclination of his heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done. 22 "As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease." Chp 9:1 Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth. 2 The fear and dread of you will fall upon all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air, upon every creature that moves along the ground, and upon all the fish of the sea; they are given into your hands. 3 Everything that lives and moves will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.

Satan has his children - Psalm 58:3, John 8:37-47, 1 John.3:8-10, 12, 1 Matthew 13:38, Revelation 2:9 below.

Ps.58:3 The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.

1 Jn.3:8He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

1 Jn.3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his (God’s) seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

1 Jn.3:10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

1 Jn.3:12 Not as Cain, [who] was of that wicked one (Jn.8:44 above), and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.

Matt.13:38The field is the world; the good seed are the CHILDREN of the kingdom; but the tares are the CHILDREN of the wicked one (1 Jn.3:12, Jn.8:44 above);

Re.2:9I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan (Jn.8:37-47).

There are stories about the state of Sodom and Gamorrah before they were destroyed. According to these stories, a man who came to Sodom and Gamorrah to sell but not to buy would be locked in the city. The city guards would refuse to open the gates to let him out. The local merchants would refuse to sell him any food. The children would throw things at him. Eventually he would starve to death. Then the people of Sodom and Gamorrah would take the things he came to sell, as well as any of his money and his clothing and bedding. They would claim to be innocent because they had not killed him.

Now, your idea of a loving God would simply sit by while this happened, I take it? He would have no problems with these kinds of people? There were no other armies to raise up against Sodom and Gamorrah, and the people knew they weren't innococent and yet they refused to take responsibility for what they did.

What other solution do you really propose for these kinds of people?

As to their children, which is worse: to leave the children to starve and suffer with no parents to care for them, or to take them to himself to care for? I'm not saying that dying is better than living, but I am saying that dying quickly when there is no hope of survival is better than dying slowly when there is no home of survival.

You dont understand. This was the old God. He decided to change his mind and become an all loving, all knowing God, rather than that "angry, Jealous God of old." Much like Tide detergent, God is New and Improved!!!

Unfortunately, he was so powerful formerly, that he wasnt able to undo any of the things he had created back when he was an azzhole...hence, the beleif in Hell still exists, and the beleif that you will go there if you dont worship this all loving God who created you in his image - so, apparently God created us to have minds and to think, but he wont stand for it, as it leads us away from beleif.

All of us who,,, let's say given up on Christianity (Pagans, Atheists, Agnostics Etc.) have all asked this question a million and one times. The most common answer you will get,, will have something to do with "man is fallible God is perfect" or the old stand by " the lord works in mysterious ways" Many will spout intelligent sounding varitations on these themes or write you a sermon. All of which will natrually come from the Bible.

I called BS on those type of politician answers a long time ago. You will find no wise or insightful answers to your question,, because there are none.

Christians base EVERYTHING they believe on the Bible,, the Bible does not address this problem. Or many others.

first of all most stories in the bible are understood by people (nonchristians at least) to be mostly metaphorical. ie the greatest jewish orthodox philosopher maimonides said that the entire adam and eve thing never really happened, its just a metaphor, and thats one of the most important biblical stories ever. the bible is mostly a book of parables that the hebrew people understood (and understand today) as being extremely overexaggerated in order to get the message across that G-d hates certain behaviour. thats why we have the oral torah (talmud and kabbalah) to tell us what the bible actually means and what G-d is really saying.

God will always judge sin. Read revelation, where he will punish the unrepentant inhabitants of the earth. Why do you think global warming is occurring, because he said in the last days men will be scorched with heat and curse him.

The earth was so corrupt much in the same way it is today, that God rid the world of all It's corruption. Innocent children and babies went straight to heaven with Him. God let everyone then as well as today, that He has rules that we are to follow, and not to follow them comes punnishment. The free choice to obey God or obey satan determines your future. So if you choose satan over God. You choose your own fate. Don't blame God. You made your choice. It is soooo much easier to blame someone else of your own wrong doing, then to take that responsibity your self. You come on.

What happened with God destroying the earth with the flood will happen again in our lifetime, but this time is will be with fire and not water. You choose God or satan.

I think we all need to remember that god is the one in control and in the bible there are many times god had to make a point of allowing people to have bad things happen becuz they lost focus of the real reason we are here on earth to glorify god and i believe he allows things like that to happen so we get put in check to remember whos really in control we must all submit to him but most people dont thats why theres so much bad in the world
