All i have to sya is that i feel very very bad for those people who are rejecting God. I realy do. It's the best thing to have Him in your life. He made my lfie better once i was saved and finally let Him inot my life. He takes care of my problems and answers my prayeers (well the ones that aren't for wordly things) and also, to give me the thigns i need not the thigns i want. He loves me and died for me so i want to die for Him. And only Him cuz He is the only living God and the only One who loves me!

David,
You are a Christian. Stop this evil and deceptive form of missionizing. It degrades Christianity.

. It is, by definition, impossible for it to be "jewish" to believe in jesus. "Jewish" is, by defintion, what jews have historically and contemporarily believe. Since in neither scenario do we find "believing in jesus", then we must clearly realize that belief in jesus is not something "jewish". You can call it "biblical" (and still be wrong), but certainly not "jewish".
. On the side, the subject of Isaiah 53 is promised a "long life" and "seed" (i.e. physical children). Clearly this isn't about jesus.
. And Isaiah 7 is clearly not messianic if you read the whole chapter. and "alma" doesn't mean virgin either. You'd know that if you spoke hebrew (I guess it wasn't part of your "extensive jewish upbringing", huh?)
. On the side, Isaiah 9 can't be about jesus since, according to christianity, he's the "son" not the "father" (as the verse states). Nor did he have control of the government (to the contrary, the roman government killed him). And he certainly did not establish "endless peace".

oh, and lastly, I've decided that you truly epitomize everything I find intensely intellectually unsatisfying about christianity. (And you clearly do not understand hebrew.)

I will provide you the same quote that I provided another.

The long and the short of it is, you are uneducated and ignorant of religious history. Jesus was far from the first to die for your sins. Consequently, it would be very helpful if you came from a place of knowledge and understanding on this subject. To quote Roberts...

"Pagan Christs by J.M Roberts, page 52.

What about the man Jesus then? Was he divine? Did he exist? Is/was he the Savior?

Most, if not all, of the Christian Belief System is Pagan in origin. It is indeed hard to force oneself to believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah, the Son of God when such titles were readily copied from Pagan doctrine. Perhaps the only item not borrowed from Pagan sources was the Messiah concept. That, of course, was taken from the Jewish hysteria of the time. In the siege of Jerusalem in 72 CE there were some 18 Messiahs inside Jerusalem alone. Neither the God man Jesus nor the self proclaimed militant messiahs saved Jerusalem. Such was the measure of hysterical superstition upon the nation of Israel.

"There is not a conception associated with Christ that is not common to some or all of the Savior cults of antiquity. The title Savior was given in Judaism to Yahweh; among the Greeks to Zeus, Heilos, Artemis, Dionysus, Hercales, the Dioscurui, Ceybele and Aesculapius. It is the essential conception of Osiris. So, too, Osiris taketh away sin, is the judge of the dead and of the last judgment. Dionysus, the Lord of the UnderWorld and primarily a god of feasting ('the Son of Man commeth eating and drinking'), comes to be conceived as the Soul of the World and the inspirer of chastity and self purification. [J. M. Robertson may be referring to Attis here.] From the Mysteries of Dionysus and Isis comes the proclamation of the easy 'yoke'. Christ not only works the Dionysiac miracle, but calls himself the 'true vine.'"

"Like Christ, and like Adonis and Attis, Osiris and Dionysus also suffer and die and rise again. To become one with them is the mystical passion of their worshippers. They are all alike in that their mysteries give immortality. From Mithraism Christ takes the symbolic keys of heaven and hell and assumes the function of the virgin-born Saoshyant, the destroyer of the Evil One. Like Mithra, Merodach, and the Egyptian Khousu, he is the Mediator; like Khousu, Horus and Merodach, he is one of a trinity, like Horus he is grouped with a Divine Mother; like Khousu he is joined to the Logos; and like Merodach he is associated with the Holy Spirit, one of whose symbols is fire."

"In fundamentals, therefore, Christism is but paganism reshaped. It is only the economic and doctrinal evolution of the system-the first determined by Jewish practice and Roman environment, the second by Greek thought-that constitutes new phenomena in religious history."

Here we are again with the same "I'm born Jewish." I've asked you now about 10 times to tell me what synagogue you attended and what was your Haftorah portion at your Bar Mitzvah...you never answer. I'm forced to conclude that you are lying about that and if you consider it mean to ask those questions, you really need help. You can e-mail me at irenaadler@yahoo.com and tell me those answers if for some reason you choose not to do it here.

Because we all have our own perception of what is going on, and do not appreciate being preached at. If you feel you are right, and all your views are the truth, that is fine, but why do you feel compelled to continue to try to impress your beliefs on other people ??? If you want to preach, go down to the local corner and have at it, it is your right... but it is also my right to be annoyed with you and your opinion as well. That does not make me mean, just annoyed with brainwashed individuals that continue to harass me with their fire and brimstone speeches and colorful anecdotes that always try to convince me that they are right, even though they have not one shred of evidence. I do not know Jesus ever did anything against me, or for me, for that matter. Go to the Salvation Army at homeless feeding time, they are a captive audience and will agree to anything for a meal...but leave the rest of us that do not share your opinion alone.....

Look. Do you imagine that over the past many many many years that someone hasn't already told me this?

Why do You People have to go on and on about it? You act like you think I didn't hear you the first several thousand times. That makes me believe that You People are a bunch of morons.

I don't know why some people get mean when you try to talk to them about Jesus; it's one of those things you just can't figure out. But you keep trying to spread the word of the Lord; you're awesome! Good luck and God Bless.

Not mean. Just sick and tired of you ASSUMING that a) I want to beleive the same crap you do, and b) what you beleive is actually the "truth" and what I beleive is wrong.

I dont care what your Lord has taught. You dont seem to pay attention or to care for what science has proven, yet I dont JUDGE YOU and call you an idiot! So why judge me - against your religious philosophies - and call me mean?

Time to look in that mirror again bub!

Because my Brother, there are many people out there who hate God. They hate truth, they hate His way. I only wish I was born Jewish. Think about it, you came from father Abraham, and King David. God choose you and though your people he brought forth the Messiah. Yesuah, God is salvation. I am a gentile saved by the Messiah and have come to the God of Israel to receive forgiveness. God will bring Israel back to himself and restore the nation. God bless Israel and may all her enemies perish in flames.

Jews are God's chosen people, and it was them (as well as others) that put Jesus to death because they did not know/believe that Jesus was God in the flesh.

Since you are of Jewish decent, you are one of God's chosen. The fact that you believe in Christ makes you a comete Jew. I envy you.
