Actually, yes. I had Custom Lasik just last week at a TLC center. They started at $4200 and I did some research at other places within about 100 miles and found 2 that were having specials this past month. When I told the folks at TLC this they dropped their price to beat the competition. I paid $3800 and have a lifetime guarentee. I know that sounds strange, but check out their website. None of the other centers that i checked had anything like that. They all said that they would redo your surgery within 1 year if you couldn't see at a distance, but TLC has a lifetime guarentee. I was 20/20 in one eye and 20/15 in the other the day after my lasik. I couldn't be happier.

I paid $1400 all together. Look around for a cheaper price. Now I will say that it has been...four years or so since I had mine done and the price included free touchups but I was so traumatized from the initial procedure that I never wanted to go back. The dr was an @sshole, I was so cold I was shaking, they didnt give me the pill to calm me down until I was literally walking into the surgery room (what the heck good would it do then?!) and even tho it was over pretty quick I couldnt stand having my eye stretched open like that and having a metal "thing" pushed down onto my eyeball. I am not trying to scare you, this was my experience. Maybe they are better now.

My point was that sometimes my vision gets really blurry for no reason and sometimes it is great. I hate to think I have to have this done again and pay again as I never kept my checkups up to date to ensure free touchups.

P.S. I just saw a price of $700 per eye the other day so I know you can still get it at that price.

Yes! Anything is negotiable. You just need to know how to negotiate in the industry.

My suggestion is to do research on other companies that are offering "specials" or "limited time only" sales on lasik surgery and bring it in for them to match. The other thing you can do is get a second or third opinion directly from other doctors and get their prices and bring that into the place you want to do the lasik and negotiate.

Your optometrist might say things like, he does better work or has top of the line equipment, but that doesn't mean that you can negotiate a price between the "special" at the other optometrist and your optometrist!

That's about the going rate. Negotiating lower fees for elective surgery is too successful. 2800 for both eyes is no too terrible.

Get Lasik Surgery in India. It is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges Eye surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.

I have also read that they arrange financing for american and canadian patients as obesity surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor i personally believe that your eye surgery can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

My cousin got her Lasik Eye surgery &Dental Surgery in India through the forerunners healthcare .She is more than very happy with the results. She just paid 25% of the amount she was quoted in USA and is all praise for this forerunners healthcare company.hope this helps

Think of it this way. If for some reason you end up pissing off the guy through haggling, he might just go discount on your eyes. So don't try it. That's my opinion.

I don't think you want to try to go cheap on your eyesight. I would go to the place with the best reputation. If it's out of your price range, dont' get it done.

Everything is negotiable. You just need to find a doctor who is willing to negotiate.
