YEAH! I think this is the biggest problem we face today. It stems from a thing called the "shoulds", example, "You should do this, and you should do that, and you shouldn't do this or that." Know what I mean? If people would STOP telling everyone else what they should or should not do, we might actually have peace. Just worry about YOURSELF! Leave everyone else alone!!

Why do you feel Christians are doing this? Maybe it is just Joe Snow who works with you who comes on too strong and tells you how to live your life, or Mary Jones who lives next door to you. It doesn't mean all Christians are like that. I pass people in stores or on the streets and pray for them if the Holy Spirit urges me to do so. I don't have to know you to pray for you. I will not come to your door or your work, I don't believe in that. But if you are sitting with me on a bus and we begin a conversation, I will. You can accept or reject as you desire, just as I can accept or reject your beliefs.
What public forum are you speaking of? Yahoo Answers? Yahoo created this category for questions related to religion.

I have not seen one person trying to convert you. If someone is trying to convert you at home or school tell them to stop. That's all you have to do. You are the one who comes to the religion category whining because you are being "attacked" by Christians trying to save your life. Good grief, grow up, tell them to leave you alone, and sit down and shut up.

That is not the christian way. I am a christian and I can certainly tell you I have my own issues and no time to tell someone else how to live their life. It says in Luke 6: 37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: 38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. 39 And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?

Okay, I am a Christian. I don't tell everyone how to live their lives. I don't even know everyone.
You keep worrying about you. I will keep doing as Jesus Christ commanded. Jesus told Christians to go tell people about Him. So we do. (the Evangelical Christians do at least)

Because faith by its very nature is false. NO ONE can just "decide" one day that Jesus is God and that somewhere, deep down, they always knew it. Christians force their own agenda upon everyone else to mask their own self-doubt and hypocrisy.
In the words of E.A. Sharpe, "He whose voice is loudest is trying hardest to convince himself."

I am a Christian - and I don't think I have that right to tell people how to live their lives.
But I know what you mean.
I just care for people and pray for them in private.
that's all.

It's part of the First Amendment for one thing.

My First Amendment right gives me the "right" to tell you pretty much anything I wish.
My Bible tells me I have to proclaim the good news of Jesus to the world, so I have to.

Well of course ,just imagine, God , like any father, needs to tell his children /direct His children on to the right path in life ,so as to give them the truth,to keep them safe ,to make them strong in spirit as they have been designed, and to show them the Father loves them. --Like I love my children.
