OK, let's do this right.
1: The book (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Roald Dahl), 1964
2: The Gene Wilder movie (Willy Wonka....), 1971
3: 1971: Breaker Confections licenses the name for a merchandising tie-in with the movie.
4: 1980: Breaker Confections officially changes it's name to Willy Wonka Brands.
5: 1988: Neslté purchases Willy Wonka Brands.
6: The Johnny Depp movie (Charlie...), 2005
So, the (original) movie came out nine years before there was an actual Willy Wonka company, but Willy Wonka branded products started coming out at the same time as the movie.
