I'll tell you what I did to get the police to set up a radar trap.

My neighbor (1 street over) lived on a thru street. She wanted to cut down on the speeding. She talked to the Mayor, council and police chief. Nothing worked.

I told her to go to a town coucil meeting and ask if she could RENT a police officer with a radar gun to give out tickets. I told her that I'd pay for the 1st hour. The town lawyer said it was legit.

3 days later there was a police officer with a radar gun and patrol car sitting in her driveway, at town expense. He gave out several tickets and slowed people down for a while.

Why did it work? Because I also would also have invited the press to take pictures and interview my friend. The Pols don't like to be shown up like that.

Take up a collection from you neighbors and head for the next town hall meeting.

The police won't do anything. We have a cross street near us that is constantly the scene of a wreck because the high speed crowd uses the North South street for a racetrack and the police won't do anything about it.

Sneak out one night and put a 6 inch speed bump on the pavement... use some sackcrete or asphalt to nail it down. If the city doesn't remove it, I will guarantee the speed demons will slow down.

Even better would be to dig out some holes in the pavement so they hit the pot holes... THAT will slow them down, too.

shoot their tires out when they drive by or put spikes in the road so they bend their rims up when their tires pop and their car will flip and they'll proly fall out and get decapitated by the weight of the car and most likely die..
