Im not sure what organizations will allow you to volunteer with children - maybe a non-profit church. However they do have volunteer programs at the humane society and they are always looking for help. Animals are about the same as children. ;-)

if you have a local hospital that has a pediatric wing then volunteer there. Also if you attend religious services somewhere--volunteer to work in the nursery, as most churches and synagoes always have nurseries and need help. Schools also need help, especially kindergarten through 3rd grades

How about your library or park district.
Also - check with a Daisy or Brownie Girl Scout troup. When I was young, mothers had lots of time to volunteer as leaders. Now moms are busy with their children, homes and jobs - with very little time left to commit to leadership like this. I don't know how old you are, but moms who lead girl scout troups of girls grades K-2 would love to have a young teen (if that's you) helping out esp. if you are a good role model! Good luck!

AMERICA'S PROMISE rings loudly in my list. I have mentored in my school district for the past seven years as a mentor and I GET THE BEST "HIGH" from this initiative by helping the kiddos inside the classroom! :-)
I am even going beyond this initiative as to volunteer in the MAKE-A-WISH program and BIG-BROTHERS-BIG-SISTERS program in my area.
Your area might offer many / some programs where you can also volunteer your time. I recommend you research your VOLUNTEER ACTION COMMITTEE, or your City commission for ideas.

properly mom, are you able to prepare dinner? if so, why do no longer you and your little Saint over there group up with a community church that does charity paintings and make some speedy food, like soup and cornbread, then take him with you to flow hand out the nutrition. or you the two can arise with a toy and blanketchronic on your community, asking people for particularly used blankets and toys that their no longer utilising from now on. Then, have him enable you to wrap the toys for the youngsters and make the greeting enjoying cards with shape paper and crayons. you may touch your community hearth or Police branch and ask in the event that they have any particular divisions that help with charities, that way you may experience risk-free taking him with you reachable out the products.
