Dim the lights, & keep it quiet, or have soft music (Mozart is good, or Celine Dion has a really soothing baby CD). You can also hum a soothing lullaby. Make sure baby is dry and not hungry. The best time is after you notice a yawn, or tired looking eyes - about an hour after eating. Lay baby across your chest (while you are standing or sitting) with their lower arm dangling behind you (they will be at a slight angle). Their head will be resting on your left upper arm and the lower part of your left arm will be supporting them. Put a folded baby washcloth lightly over their eyes (it really works) to block out any stimulation, and gently rub their forehead between the eyes with your right fingers...walk or rock the baby as you are doing this. Make sure they have reached a deep sleep before you try to put them down.

You may also want to pick up a copy of "The Baby Whisperer". This isn't something she recommends, but her "EASY" routine works amazingly well. You can also go to her website thebabywhisperer.com and there is a message board about sleep issues.

Are you the only one with her during the day ? i.e. is there any other children in the house? is the TV or Radio on ? I know it sounds silly turning all those things off and she will get used to them but at night your little one is probably sleeping right through because everyone else is asleep and the house is quite - daytime the sounds are different, try keep the house quite for a while and see if it makes a difference I am sure she will settle into a daytime pattern soon for you x

Holy cow my kid was napping three tmes a day until he was 9 months or so then 2 and now still one. But all kids are different. Don't worry give it a little while and your babies habits will probably change. Be blessed that your baby sleeps at night mine never did. Up at least 2 times a night until he was almost 1. So you never know.

Just put her in a dark room with some soft soothing music. My niece was the same but used to settle down for a nap eventually if I just left her alone.

Try the rocking technique. While it's in the sleepy thing (make sure it's movable), slightly push with both hands, using only two fingers, the corner of the sleepy thing. Then move on to the next corner and then the next.

let the baby cry in the crib. I had to do that now to my 7 month old son and trust me, it works. You will not regret it. Yes, it is hard to hear the baby cry for about 2-3 days with you not giving in but eventually, she will realizes you will not be coming to pick her up and she will sleep. if it worked for my stubborn son, it will work for yours. good luck!!!

I would suggest let her crawl around allot ,I know at that age you really don't want them to leave your sight but let her roam around and have fun play ,She'll eventually get tired and take a nap my little girl was like that too.

The one thing that ALWAYS worked for my little girl is car rides. Take an easy, fairly straight route, and hopefully the thrum of the car will soothe her to sleep.

Good luck! You certainly need it with babies and sleep! ^_^;

give them a warm bath before they go to sleep or i heard of this technique where you put the baby in the car and start driving.the car movement supposedly rocks the baby gently into sleep
