My living room and dining room are one room with a light fiture right in the middle of the room. Any ideas how I can center the light over my dining room table which is off to the side about 3 feet? I live in Italy and the way the houses are built here I can not move the light by snaking through the ceiling. Any ideas? I was thinking of bringing the light over by using a decorative chain but there is also an island of recessed lighting. Help!!!!

1) Decorative chain sounds nice. 2) Directional lighting would work. 3) Run the wire on the outer ceiling through a 1/2 conduit. Everybody could see it, but it doesn't look too awfully bad.

It would definitely help if you could post some pictures.
