First you need to establish the fact that it could be a medical issue, such as an underproductive thyroid. If that is already ruled out, then here is an idea:

First you need to determine your very own caloric intake for the day. That 1200 calorie diet you see on the nutritional data label on food, that is all garbage. It is established for a person who is on a 1200 calorie per day diet...which is pretty nasty and more than likely not good for you.

To determine your caloric intake for the day: Take your weight and multiply it by your activity level (on a scale of 12 thru 16). Twelve would be lazy, and 16 would be way too active. An example for me would be 165 X 15 = 2475. So my intake level for the day would be 2475 calories per day. To lose weight, I would need to eat less than that, but be careful. If you eat well under your level, it could be a bad thing. Also, one thing to remember: You need to eat to lose weight.

This is just a starting block on losing weight. Exercise can definately increase weight loss, as well as eating a good balanced breakfast. Breakfast is important because it "jump starts" your metabolism and gets started for the day.

1. Start moving. One of the most effective weight loss strategies around is exercise. 2. eat lots of veggies and fruits, have some protein, but not a ton, and stay away from stuff with sugar. 3. Eat small, healthy meals and snacks several times a day. 4. Team up. Get together with a friend who has much the same goals as you. 5. Think health. Don't try to lose weight. Instead, try to get healthy. 6. Get rest. When your body is tired. 7. Drink water. 8. Don't quit. look at http://www.theaones.com/answers/weight-loss/what-is-the-best-diet-that-works.htm for a complete Healthy Weight Loss Program

A good diet for you to do is just really healthy foods. Vegetables are awesome because you can eat almost as much of them as you want and don't have to worry about gaining weight. They also help you to feel "full." Chicken breasts and Fat free cottage cheese (13g protein/cup) are great for protein. Of course this doesn't mean cut out from fruits, they are extremely important as well. Eat carbohydrates very seldom during the day because they have Glycogen in them which causes the body to grow unless you are hella active and can burn it all off. A twenty minute walk everyday is great for your cardio however I see you are probably still in high school so you walk allday so..that is good. If you choose to work out more, you MUST eat lots of protein to repair and build your muscles which in the end burn fat.=0) If you do weights, the more weight you use, the bigger your muscles will be. If you use less weight and more reps then you will tone down. Cardio naturally cuts your muscles lean, not bulky like a weightlifter. My biggest recommendation is to also along with a healthy food diet/and your daily school walking is drink GREEN TEA. It naturally boosts your metabolism, detoxs your body, and improves your immune system to name a few..
*cancer
*rheumatoid arthritis
*high cholesterol levels
*cariovascular disease
*infection
*impaired immune function
All this is also prevented or helped while drinking green tea. You can put sugar in green tea to...just don't over do it. A teaspoon per cup is fine. It doesn't not affect how the tea will work. I have drank Green tea for 14 years and I'm telling you it is the best thing for a diet! I'm 5'5, 118lbs. Its really simple to and delicious.=0P You should start to lose weight/toneup after only a month of drinking this stuff. So I hope this was helpful, good luck!=0)

To lose weight, a person has to reduce the calorie intake by some amount by modifying their diet. A diet without sufficient nutrients will only increase the appetite of the person trying to lose weight. Since most people combine a diet with an exercise plan, additional nutrients are required for the growth of muscles required to increase the metabolic rate required for long term weight loss. the best diet is the one you'll actually do... so make your own diet... lots of fruits and veggies, lean protein like skinless chicken, high fiber cereal (like "kashi" brand, you can lose 15 lbs in a year just by switching to a high fiber cereal), whole grains and brown rice. use spices for flavor. if you're tight on time there are lots of frozen meals you can do like weight watchers etc... these are great to add some frozen veggies in, toss in the microwave and you're good to go. don't forget 8 glasses of water a day!

as far as exercise do 30 to 50 minutes of cardio 3 to 5 days a week, and do weights or "power" work on the non cardio days. this can be as easy as doing buns squeezes and squats while you put on makeup, do your hair, wash the dishes, anything that requires you to stand in the same spot for 45 seconds or longer. do leg lifts, crunches, and a few pushups while watching the tv.

you'll see the inches melt away in no time... good luck

fitday.com has a place where you can put in your weight and then put in your goal weight and it will track your progress. They have a journal section where you can write down what you eat, which helps a lot of people because they are more aware of what they are consuming. Definitely check it out, they have all sorts of helpful tips and I think there is a recipe section. Good luck!
