it depends on if your dvd player is dvd-rw compatible. most dvd players are dvd-r compatible, but not dvd-rw compatible. so dvd-r would be the way to go.

It really depends on what you want to do with it later.

With DVD-RW you can re-use the DVD by reformatting it or erasing it, but the DVD-R is a permanent burn.

It depend which one has faster speed.
And if you wanna keep the video on the disc then DVD-R but if you wanna add something later or delete the video than its best to use DVD-RW.

If you want long term storage for files, use the DVD-R. It is less susceptible to degradation over time. Even better, if you can fit your files on a regular CD, use that. Any media that can be constantly rewritten to can affect long term storage of data.
